Bottle: Pours a light golden color with a nice white head and great lacing. Aroma is a mild doughiness with some hops and malt. Taste is a clean breadlike maltiness with some hop tones, citrus, grass, and perhaps a bit of grain. Nice clean finish, one of the best pilseners I’ve tried to date.

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2010 Bottle, best before October 15, ’07. All right! Finally got a fresh bottle of this stuff. Pours a hazy light gold with a firm white head. The nose is very grainy and doughy with hints of ganja, soil, and cardboard. The flavor has a thick doughy, papery attitude and a dry finish. It tastes the way a brewery smells, very grainy. While I do like the balance , the intensity of the overall flavor profile, and especially the lingering, semi-dry finish, I can’t get into the traditional European lagers. My personal taste interferes with my enjoyment of this one. However, I can tell that this is a clean, robust take on the style (my preferred pilsener so far) and I would definitely recommend it to any of my friends who are more into lighter colored lagers than I am.

Saw a fresh sixer of this stuff at Green’s in Columbia and couldn’t pass it up on a warm spring day. I’ve been wanting to revisit a good pils and this definitely fits the bill. Very strong and assertive clean hoppiness is the true character of this lager. Wooden type bitterness along with some citrus zest is plainly obvious in the aroma. The palate is lively and medium light, a fantastic fit for the flavor profile. Clean cracker and doughy malt flavor provides a body for bitter hops throughout. A really fantastic pils, though admittedly I’m still more of an ale fan.

Bottle at Folly Brew. I am really digging the Prima Pils. It’s the only pilsner I’ve ever had that I still drink often, especially in the warmer weather. It’s in a league of its own. I really love the fact they date stamp these bad boys. Huge props to Victory! Why does no one else make a pilsner this good?

Bottle at beer-30. Pours clear light gold with a white head. I’m kinda wondering why this doesn’t show up in the Bo-Pils category. Aroma and taste of flowery hops, biscuit, straw. Maybe a tiny bit of citrus? Nice crisp-dry finish. Rather a nice pils or bo-pils.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 MrChopin (2065) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAY 2, 2008
UPDATED: MAY 15, 2008 Nose has a great, fruity balance with grapefruit and raisins and picks up a funky, cheesy blanket near the finish. Golden body with large, long-lasting white head and loads of lacing. Taste is a beautiful balance between huge hops and a bready, sour malt character. Palate is alive with hops. Beer finishes with less bitterness than starts, but balance is still present. Serious beer.

Pours a clear yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma of strong perfume and some malts. Flavour of strong pale malts and grassy hops, hay and mild fruitiness as well. Medium bodied with a long, bitter and mild malty finish. Nice strongly hopped Pils.
