Bottle. Pours a clean golden color with a medium sized, white, foamy head. Nose is straw and hay, with some fresh grasses and yeast thrown in. Taste is very fresh with some light malts and straw, finishing very clean and crisp.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20 ElGaucho (1816) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - AUG 18, 2002
Had this for the 1st time at the City Pages beer fest in Minneapolis a few months ago, and loved it, but the 3 oz I tasted were not enough to form a complete opinion. Now that I have, I have nothing but positive things to say. The 1st impression is a citrus fruit hoppy aroma. The appearance is unique; the cloudy, amber-gold hue with a thick white head provides an alluring attractiveness. This is quite possibly the best pilsner I’ve ever had, which means it supplants Urquell from the top of my list. There is so much flavor and complexity here, it is almost unfair to other Pilsners for Prima to be an entry in the Pilsner category. Nevertheless, the bar has been raised, and we all will benefit from competitors attempting to best the Prima!
1.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 6/20 Fratto (1814) - Arlington, Texas, USA - OCT 23, 2009
Bottle from the World Market in Arlington. Smells like old garbage. Really dry, but I can’t really taste much. Aftertaste is bitter and much better than the actual taste.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 obxdude10 (1811) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 9, 2002
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2006 Very traditional pilsener, perfectly clear golden color, soft & subtle white head, generous lacing around the glass, lots of abrasive hops in the nose, the hop character all over this beer really smacks you in the face, very hoppy flavors but incredibly smooth & drinkable, very refreshing on a hot day, clean but dry finish, excellent pils
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Lumpy (1802) - Carrollton, Texas, USA - NOV 22, 2005
Bottle. Perfect 1/2 inch head on a honey/straw body. Nose-Sweet Pils Malts and some spice. Light dust smell. Taste-light skunk (perfect), medium bittering hops, nice crisp eastern European hops, and some lingering sweetness. This is damn good for such a blah style. Very refreshing and satisfying. I may have found my everyday drinker.
