DeadGuyFrank (316), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA May 2, 2008 I can’t believe I never rated this....anyway, grassy subtle hops and beautiful in a pils glass. Traditional to the style, PA folks should support the local brewery with this one and put down that case of Heinken, Stella on the other hand, maybe....
502Flavors (185), Kentucky, USA Jul 25, 2008 12 oz. into pint glass. Light golden with pretty big-bubbled carbonation; pretty creamy white head. Aroma is very light, smells like pale malt with just a dirty little hint of hops. Flavor is very soft too, with not much going on. Just refreshing with a descent resiny hop presence on the finish – definitely more so than most other pilsners. Pretty dry finish, no alcohol. Light to medium bodied on the palate – more body than I expected from the style. Crisp. Overall: one of the better pilsners I have had, but Clipper City’s Uber Pilsner is way better. Still, this is a great example of its style and is definitely a refreshing un-flawed beer that’s great for the summer. dkachur (631), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jul 21, 2008 12 oz. bottle best by October 13, 2008. Straw colored pour with a 2-finger head. Decent retention and little specks of lacing. Grassy aroma with an earthy tinge. Grainy taste with a bitter finish. The hop tastes lingers quite a long time. Medium body. Very refreshing. 41cubs (8), , New Jersey, USA does not count Jul 21, 2008 Really nice, easy drinking warm weather beer that isn’t over complicated. I’ve not sampled a lot of pilsners, but this one provides the best combo of what I think they’re supposed to be. Clear gold with a greenish hue. Smells grassy but with a little mineral twinge, like a grain field next to a stream. Taste is more of the same and crazy smooth. Mouthfeel is very smooth but not at all heavy, nearly perfect for the style. When the warm weather comes, so should this beer. ForeverNovice (3), , Minnesota, USA does not count Jul 20, 2008 Very good for a pilsener. Golden, light foamy head etc. Just like you’d want and expect from a pilsener. At first the flavor is very, very bitter. Then it eases up and gains complexity. Light and refreshing. I usually drink heavy, dark beers, and drinking this cold on a hot day is a good way to enjoy it. anders37 (2505), Malmö, Sweden Jul 20, 2008 Draught @ Collins Pub, Seattle.
