SDFOB-2008. Draft. Very light bitters. Some pineapple flavors. Nothing too exciting to me.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2012 Re-rate 4/2/12: Bottle sample at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Thanks zvikar. Clear golden. Slightly grainy aroma with grassy hops. Rather dry flavor with bitter grassy hops. Medium-bodied. OK. 5/3/6/3/11=2.8
(11/13/08) Bottle at friends’ house in Philadelphia. Slightly hazy golden color with a quickly-diminishing medium white head. Aroma of some grassy hops and lots of graininess. Sweetish flavor with some malt, graininess and a bitter finish with rather grassy hops. Medium-bodied. Not awful but nothing great. 5/3/6/3/11=2.8

This is a decent pils. It has a lot of good flavor. It has a slight bitterness to it at first, and then really packs a punch with the spice, and then goes back to the bitter finish. It definitely has many layers of flavor.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2011 What a heck happened? It now smells like yeast, and the hop aroma and flavor are rather dull and restrained. And the pilsner malt sorely lacks vividness. Rather unclean.
I continually revisit new batches in hopes of finding a good one. After years of doing so, I give up. This beer is far from the brightly lemony, herbal, peppery, and cleanly malty pils it once was. My last bottle was truly nauseating with downright putrid notes of circus peanuts,
spent tealeaves, and vitamin B. Over the past five years or so, this beer has varied from almost drinkable to utterly poor, with this particular bottle being representative of the latter. My score represents the average relative to my countless experiences.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
hop and bread aroma. pale yellow body. stinky hop flavor and a bit thin. i drank this one close to room temperature, so... maybe this beer is much better when enjoyed cold. i am a bit disappointed because i had high hopes for “prima”, especially since it is rated so high. perhaps i should give this one another chance sometime. on a positive note, the label is very cool.

Uninspired…Sketchy aroma, light yellow coloring with a nice head. Overly bitter and slightly off balance. Not bad, but I expected better.

this is good pilsener, the head on it is ok does not retain very well. flavor is average and has a decent bite to it. there is a different kind of bitterness to it that makes it unique and easy to drink
