Ingredients: 2 row German pale malt; Czech Saaz, German Northern Brewer hops.
Heaps o’ hops are hiding under the full, frothy head of this elegant Pils. All German malt subtleties linger beneath a long dry finish of this classy quencher. One of Michael Jackson’s 500 Classic Brews

golden yellow, lots of tiny bubbles, frothy white head, fresh hop aroma with a touch of malt sweetness, light malt flavor followed by big hop burst and lots of bitterness, sample was a little old and cardboardy, otherwise rating could have been higher

Pours gold with a decent sized white head. Sweet grass, hops, and bread aroma. Flavor wasn’t much different. A little bit of metal in the hop flavor, and the sweet is a bit overpowering and a funky earthy flavor pops its head in in a not so great way. Finishes clean, slightly bitter, thin. Decent.

Frothy white head on a clean pale yellow body. Crisp and a bit of grassy acidity from the hops. A good summer beer.

The beer pours a clear yellow with a quickly disappearing thin white head. The nose is a mix of light aromatic hops and grass. The taste starts clean and finished quickly but the middle of the palate has a funk to it. Almost like wet paper or rotting straw.

Botte #2 at Papsoes blindtasting. Cloudy yellow coloured with a small white head. Fruity aroma of tea and hops with notes of citrus. Fruity flavour of citrus, grass and hops. Dry hoppy finish.

SDFOB-2008. Draft. Very light bitters. Some pineapple flavors. Nothing too exciting to me.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2012 Re-rate 4/2/12: Bottle sample at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Thanks zvikar. Clear golden. Slightly grainy aroma with grassy hops. Rather dry flavor with bitter grassy hops. Medium-bodied. OK. 5/3/6/3/11=2.8

(11/13/08) Bottle at friends’ house in Philadelphia. Slightly hazy golden color with a quickly-diminishing medium white head. Aroma of some grassy hops and lots of graininess. Sweetish flavor with some malt, graininess and a bitter finish with rather grassy hops. Medium-bodied. Not awful but nothing great. 5/3/6/3/11=2.8

This is a decent pils. It has a lot of good flavor. It has a slight bitterness to it at first, and then really packs a punch with the spice, and then goes back to the bitter finish. It definitely has many layers of flavor.

Draught at The White Horse on Parsons Green (London), pours a clear lightish gold. A good malty palate, only a little grainy and quite floral.
