Bottle: Courtesy of my Secret Santa...thanks Jason. This is really a beautiful looking brew...pours a clear gold with a two-fingered white pillow-like head. Aroma is chock-full of hops and some ?Munich malts. Other notes of grass and very light citrus are present. Nice body for the style and very crisp and clean tasting. Flavor of malt and hops, very basic and not overly complex but wonderfully executed. Very nice brew that I wish I could buy in my area.

Draught in pint glass at Flying Saucer Raleigh. Clear light gold with lasting white head and lace. Faint aroma of yeast and tart hops. Flavors of honey/lemon with a crisp snappy bitter finish. Medium high carbonation and light body. An excellent example of the style, deserving of the hype.

A pilsner, to be sure - pale, clear, and plain, visually. Aroma is smoky. Aroma is deep and rich. Aroma is hints of pork and cabbage. Taste is delicious, rich and hinting of other flavors. I taste bologna. I taste bread. I taste lettuce. I taste toast. It’s wonderfully balanced, a superlative taste but so very simple and unidimensional. Lacing is nice, but head is minimal. Warm with light alcohol. A great simple beer. Aroma/Olfactory: Malt flavor is: bread, cereal, nuts, toast, oats. Hop flavor is: resinous, floral, very herbaceous Yeast flavor is: doughy, thick, moldy, leathery, deep. Other flavors include: bubblegum, lightly cherry, ginger, raisin, smoke Visuals/Appearance: Color is: pale, golden, amber, light, thin, white. Liquid is: clear, immaculate Head and lace are: minimal, white Taste/Flavor: Maltiness or Sweetness level is: medium to heavy Hoppiness or Bitterness level is: light to medium Sour level is: none Palate/Tactile: Body or Mouthfeel is: medium Texture is: creamy, thick, silky Carbonation is: lively Finish is: long and wonderfully balanced. Overall experience: Visually this is not a stimulating beer, but so rewarding in other ways. It’s delicious in terms of taste, though not overwhelming in any way. It’s feel is enveloping, smooth, and mellow. Its aroma is enticing, but not overwhelming. It’s a wonderful beer, and easily my favorite pilsner.

A beer that summer was invented for. Nice hop bite, with a bit of floral hops. It beckons you to keep drinking. Freshness can be a concern, because without the hop bite the drinkability suffers.

Aroma: The aroma is clean with flowery notes and hints of malts. Appearance: The beer poured bright yellow and brilliantly clear with a tall white head. Flavor: The initial taste had a bitter bite and herbal notes. As the beer warmed up the flavor became crisp flavor. The malt’s presents increased and rounded out flavor. Mouth feel: It has a light body, mild carbonation and medium dry finish. Overall Impression: A clean beer, in line with style guideline. Over all the beer was enjoyable beer to drink.

THIS could very easily be one of the best American Pilsners I’ve ever had. First time was on tap at Map Room in Chicago, loved it. Pours clean with fluffy white head that lasts all the way through. The body and hops truly accentuate each other, and the mouthfeel is perfect for the style. Have one if you get the chance.
