COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: 2 row German pale malt; Czech Saaz, German Northern Brewer hops.
Heaps o’ hops are hiding under the full, frothy head of this elegant Pils. All German malt subtleties linger beneath a long dry finish of this classy quencher.

Pale caramel gold, white head that settles away fairly quickly. Pungent, spicy herbal hops, unctuous, and toothy. A bit of mint. A little dill. The smell of tomato plants in the sun. A nice tart lager note that blends happily with the garden quality of the hops. Full chewy hop character that feels charged with little bits of electricity, elegantly blended with a surprisingly big malt structure. A lingering cinnamon note. Very hop forward, but with a rare balance and grace. After several weeks of some kind of sinus bug totally killing my ability to smell, this is a welcome way to celebrate the return of scent, glorious scent! Thanks so much Alaskanwarren for this fine beer!

Not quite bright on the pour, it sits quietly with just a sprinkling of fine carbonation dancing in uniform streams up to a tight, compact white crest atop. The head lasts the distance, a fine lace left in its wake. The body a misted orange gold. Soft zest of lemon and lime comes through on the nose under some clean, dusty grain, chaff and toothpick, and bright Saaz hops, very nice. Saaz hop dominated palate. Rough and mostly dry in back, very peppery and herbaceous. It peaks on the swallow and drops off with great haste, a bitter edge that grips the mouth well. The body is light but I would call it anything but delicate. Its got a reserved citrus fruit sweetness that adds a degree of tang to it, the malt profile being dry, dusty and just a little gritty. Impeccably balanced with little inklings of nuances that keep it interesting. Lightly floral, raspy, piney, the carbonation just enough to give it bounce. I love this beer. It isn’t classic Pilsner but a modern twist of it that does stands alone. Wonderfully refreshing stuff!! (12Fl.Oz, Enjoy by: 21/11/11, Mane Liquor, Belmont)

ABUSEDGOAT (1937) - California, USA - JUN 26, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 27, 2007 Clear golden bronze, large white head with decent lacing and retention. Aroma is a boatload of grassy/spicy hops with fresh bread. It’s big for a pilsner, but stays within the limits of the style. I don’t think I’d change anything... if it lacks anything it’s a ’wow factor.’

Light golden pour with a generous off-white head. Huge aroma for the style, with plenty of hops, honey, and apricots. Very smooth in the front of the mouth, with bready malt hitting the taste buds first. Hops come through after that, and carry through for a nice long slightly bitter finish. Loved the hop presence in here! Very easy drinking, and easily the best pils I have found to date.

3/29/2005 - After buying a 12 pack of this on a whim, I have to say it grew on me. I’m not a huge fan of Pilsners, but it has a nice crisp taste with a touch of something (lemon?) that makes it quite refreshing. Not sure I’d buy it again, but I’d drink one if offered to me. Re-sampled 2/22/2006. Man, this beer is much better than I rememembered. Maybe this year’s version is far superior, maybe it’s just a LOT better on draft. But my previous 3.3 rating is jumping up. The aroma and flavor was sweet and slightly buttery. Smooth as butter, too. Really nice! I will go out and grab another bottle of this on my next shopping trip...just to check!

Hazy orange-gold, towering white head. Very hoppy aroma, floral and resinous, beautiful! Generous quantities of malt and hops fill the palate. A very well-crafted pilsener, and absolutely delicious!

Nice yellow gold color, but I could use a bit more head. Excellent session beer and very refreshing after mowing the lawn!

12oz bottle. Hazy and golden with a kind of dull appearance. Strong malt nose with a good dose of grassy hops. Crisp and dry. Citrus hoppy with a sweet malt character.
