From bottle at Stone Bistro. Pours golden orange with a small tan head. Caramel and mild spiced aroma, a bit dull. Spiced, caramel and light hoppy flavour lingering from start to finish.

Bottled. Thanks to Greg Koch. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, and straw, leading to a dry bitter finish.

(growler, thanks LordMaynard) Medium off-white head atop clear light amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, apple, dusky, some mango, orange, clove, flower, bubblegum, banana. Taste is medium sweet, Belgian yeast, cotton candy, orange, some alcohol, light banana, clove. Medium body. Surprised that the ABV is so high.

Bottle... RBSG ‘08... Clear golden ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma releases fresh, spicy hops along with all the appropriate Belgian yeast esters and phenols that I just don’t like... banana, smoke, clove, etc. Full-bodied and oily with humble carbonation. Malty and sweet up front; well-bittered, fruity and spicy on the backside. Lengthy, spicy, astringent finish. Kudos to Greg Koch for popping the top on this one !

Draught Pale maber, well-carbonated to rim. Hints of diacetyl and acetone, some hops, bananaester, fruity. Off-putting, acrylic-chemical taste, clashing with the hops to unacceptable result. Sharp, adstringent MF. God!! The Germans ought to keep their good hops for making their own good beers. Victory is ruining theirs.

Draft. Pours hazy dark straw to copper color with off-white head. Nose had some yeasty spice, orange zest, berry, limey citrus. Complex palate but a bit hot. Flavor was orange zesty, with berry, spicy yeast, and backup hops.

Tasted at the May Northern California Beer Tasting. This Belgian strong ale pours a hazy gold amber color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is banana and clove, yeast, some spices and some funk. A medium bodied BSA. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are earthy. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Poured an amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of banana, bubblegum, clove, floral hops, and seemingly tons of other phenols, with some toast, and caramel as well. Taste of caramel, more spices, dried fruits, moderate hops, and a fair amount of alcohol in the finish.

12oz. Bottle from CBC 2008: Aroma of fruit, alcohol, bubblegum, and some malts. Poured amber in color with a small white head that diminished. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of spices, cloves, alcohol, Belgian yeast, and some hops. Medium body. Tingly, then chalky texture. Lively carbonation. Dry, spiced finish.

Sampled at Dickinsonbeer’s Hoboken gathering - hazy strawberry color - smells of orange peel and coriander, light phenolics, strong spices - semi-dry, with some biscuity malt, moderate spicy character, and some wildflower - a lot of dried herb complexities - quite nice, actually.
