Mar 29, 2008 Growler. At Victory Brewing. Pours golden yellow. Thick white bubbly head, that was present in my glass until the very end. Aroma was smoky. Reminded me of bacon. Flavor is smoky up front, mellows out to sweet caramel notes with hints of smoked malts. Mouthfeel was soft. Body medium. Flavor was nicely balanced. Not much for smokey stuff, but this was a treat.

Mar 24, 2008 Draft->juice glass (tasting@brewery): Pours a large, rocky, off-white head atop of a yellow body. Not much aroma other’n smoke. The body is light, the texture is thin, and the finish is astringent with a soft bit of carbonation. The flavor’s duration is short, being moderately sweet, and lightly bitter. The bartender popped this on us one night and I must say that I was quite pleased; I’m not quite sure why this beer is (presently) in the 46th percentile.

Mar 23, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Pours golden with thick white head. Aroma is big time smoke. Long lingering smoke taste too. All smoke but surprisingly drinkable.

Mar 23, 2008 Nice medium golden pour with minimal off-white head. Extreme aroma of smoke, smoked wood, smoked meat, just plain smoked. Flavor is exactly the same. Tastes like smoke in a glass, maybe a touch of hickory bacon. Very unique flavor.

Mar 17, 2008 From the tap poured a nice amber color with very little head. Flavor of snoke or BBQ. Flavor of liquid smoke, that lingered way too long.

Mar 13, 2008 Pours a clear golden amber color with thin white head. Aroma was kind of week, not as smokey as I would like. Flavor was also weak, watered down with only a faint hint of smoked malt. Very disappointing.

Mar 4, 2008 Draught: Aroma of smoke, floral hops, and sweet malts. Poured golden amber in color with a tiny white head that diminished very quickly. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Flavor of smoke, caramel malt, floral hops, and resin. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Smokey, hoppy finish. A nicely balanced Rauchbier.
