Commercial Description:
A full-bodied lager beer of exuberant and robust character. It’s muscle-man body comes from decocted German malts and noble German hops. Lagered long and cold to refine its strong temperament, St. Boisterous emerges smooth and seductive, with a malty sweet charm. This classic rendition of the German ‘maibock' style will warm your heart.

Interesting! Not much of an aroma - slightly sweet smell. Clear (see-through like a Bud or something else crappy) but the taste is what grabs you. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. There are some hints of alcohol but that’s not overpowering. Like I said to start - the best way to describe this brew is...interesting!

This beer is quite interesting. At first I thought I hated it, then I loved it. I keeps you wanting more. I am a fan of most Victory brands.

A very good bock. Nice and strong. A little too much bitterness for a bock. Very good taste overall.

Draught, Sheffield’s in Chicago: clear, dark yellow with of modest ivory head. Full malty aroma, heavy on the toasted grains and showing plenty of honey and a bit of alcohol. Body is a bit thin and the flavours are pretty subtle: soft hop cones and an apple flesh malt component. I think that I was anticipating something a bit more interesting, not to say it wasn’t enjoyable, just not quite as much as I thought it would…

Bottle from Rich: Pours a dark golden hue with a fading fizzy head and little lace. The aroma has notes of caramel malt, honey, heather and flowery hops, apple and dusty esters. The taste starts with moderate sweetness and malty. A bit of apple and spice background adds some depth. The finish is short and only notes a hint of some alcohol. The feel is well, boring really. Not bad but not interesting either. This would almost be a session bock (if there is such a thing) if not for the alcohol which will catch up with you after a glass. Nothing to seek out, but still try if you have the chance.

This easy drinking bock has a musty aroma, yellow macro beer appearance. Sweet caramel malt flavor balanced with some hop flavor. You’d never guess this helles bock is 7.3% alcohol.

bottle courtesy of richlikebeer. with a name on the label like "Helles Bock" it seems a contradiction, translated helles means light. but this truly is a light bock. pour is a very pale golden color with not much head. all flavors are mild and subdued. and while very mild it is still an enjoyable and quite drinkable beer.

Pours a golden color, with plenty of white head. Nice malty favor. Easy drinking. With some hops.
