Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 3, 2006 A hazy pale brown beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet and dominated by notes of caramel, while the flavor is sweet with notes of both malt and caramel. Nothing special - especially for the style. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 1, 2003 Some fusels, faint malt. Light amber colour. A little bit of stickiness. Like an underhopped Polish mocne. Lacks the melanoidins I seek. argo0 (6231), Washington DC, USA Jul 5, 2004 (draft) Clear golden body with minimal white head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, some spice. Taste is sweet, caramel, candy sugar, spice, with some grassy/herbal in finish. Medium-full body with some syrup. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 12/24/1998

Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Dec 11, 2006 Pale, clear, shining golden hue leaves a slowly fading off-white cover. A potent honeyed maltiness replaces the would-be preferred toastiness. Crunchy cereals feels rather sweet, yet floral, herbal and slightly vegetal garden scents politely try to offer a compensating balance. A bit metallic and rather lean, plus not very carbonated, the whole of which kinda seems to enhance drinkability, but cuts the enjoyment and contemplation. A touch of alcohol finds its way across the herbal bitterness which serves as a finishing act. Good, if not taking the way I’d hoped for.
