Prostman (1076), Pennsylvania, USA Apr 19, 2005 This might be my favorite beer for the style. Nice golden color with a perfect balanced flavor that is a welcome addition to the warmer weather. Recommended. TheBeerLover (1013), DC Metro Area, USA Jun 4, 2006 12 oz bottle. This beer was available in bottles years ago, then went to a draugt only product, and now is back in bottle form. To my tastes this is an exceptionally well done maibock, or "blonde" bock bier. It is a classic example of the style, and one of the best domestic examples on the market today, and is as impressive as some German examples. St. B pours to a beautiful, bright, golden color, with a thick, creamy, white head, and a good bit of carbonation. The nose on this beer is outstanding with really great pale and sweet malty aroma. The palate is firm, and slick, with a sea of crisp and delicious pale and sweet malt flavor, on a smooth and round body. This beer finishes with more great pale malt flavor up front, then ends with just enough herbal hop bittereness to balance this one out to perfection. Very impressive beer, that is so smooth and drinkable. A beer with fantastic flavor, and at 7.3% abv, one you have to be careful with, as you will want to drink this one by the liter. RAUCHFEST (122), PROSPECT PARK, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 10, 2002 a great version this year a little more hops than usual and as always the right amount of malt to back them up its a shame this is no longer bottled Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Oct 15, 2000 Fall beers are my favorite, followed by the beers of spring. Bocks and all thier spring cousins are quite robust as this beer. Malty, hop bite at the finish, and that semi-sweet semi-bitter after taste and a high abv makes this lager a hit with me. MilkmanDan (1937), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Jul 22, 2004 Orange-auburn. Nose fruity and peachy. Flavor is stickky, fruity and citric, followed by a good hop bite. Just wonderful stuff.
