3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at Blind Tiger. Pours dark clear amber. The taste of alcohol is strong here and definitely strong malts, smoke and toasted caramel. A decent beer.

Had this as a draft and it was considerably carbonated. It had a really lovely nutty, barnayardy quality with banana esters.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at the Khyber. Poured a very dark ruby - nice color (make sure you hold it up to a bright light!) Small white head disapeared quickly. Sweet dark fruits balanced with some darker elements. Burned oak wine barrels. Coffee liquor. Tinge of sour and smoke. Not fantastic, but interesting and unusual.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Oblivion. Nose has some syrupy qualities with some light raisin and maple like notes. Molasses and some other dark fruits. Nice. Pour is brown with a thin white head. Taste is similar to nose with some dark fruits and a bit of bready notes and some light molasses/syrup flavors. Good stuff.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear ruby/amber color with a medium tan head. Aroma is malty with light fruitiness, rasin, and a bit of nuttiness. Flavor has some wheaty and fruity notes...lightly roasty malts and a mild earthy hoppiness...faint nuttiness. Mouthfeel is medium/full with a fruity/malty finish that warms a bit.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This one poured a dark amber with hazy ruby highlights. Barely any head at all is poured. Aroma is big on toasted malt, dark fruits, and a little bit of a spicy kick. Most though when you put your nose up to the glass you get blasted by fruits. Taste is pretty big. Very sweet. I picked up some brown sugar mixed in. But once again the fruit takes the cake. Small amounts of alcohol peak through once in a while. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, small amount of carbonation, and a slightly dry finish. Overall this is a very good Doppelbock. Not the kind of beer I would drink again (Doppelbocks don’t do much for me) but this is a nice big and complex version of the style.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Best by Dec 2011. Poured from a 12oz bottle into a wine glass. Pours a purpleish brown. Not much head and zero lacing. Mild fruity aroma. Mouthfeel is pretty flat and dull. Little carbonation to liven things up. Taste is pretty flat too. Dark fruit, banana, clove, some alcohol and little else. I’m not a big fan of bocks and this didn’t to much for me either.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: DEC 11, 2011 Victory at it best again, one of there best beers. It?s a light brown with carmel color in the light. It has very little head but the aroma is great and only gets better as it warms. Caramel, coffee, and a little hoppy. I always have this one around. It?s a little high in cost per case, but well worth it.
