Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Apr 7, 2003 Deep red color and thin. Sweet syrupy aroma. Interestingly mellow 'til the finish when it takes on a vaguely mediciney appeal, but in a pleasant way. Damn good!
1_2many (231), Ohio, USA Aug 30, 2008 Bottle. Clear dark burgundy with a moderate head dissapating to a thin film with decent lacing. Aroma is toasty malt, caramel, and some fruit. Not a strong aroma but complex and interesting. Flavor is sweet with a mild bitterness towards the end and some fruit notes. Smooth, medium bodied, very drinkable. BeerBlitz (47), Roslyn, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 5, 2008 12 oz bottle; Easy drinkin’, baby. I must say I find it impossible to believe it’s almost 8 percent. Tremendous aroma with many components. Dark brown color, clear, leaving a small light tan head. Somewhat sweet and malty taste. Medium to light in body, leaving a pleasant aftertaste. bbrock81 (179), Le Mars, Iowa, USA Jul 21, 2008 Bottle, gift from Phlicker. Pours almost opaque Coke-brown, with a light head. Aroma is light, malt and fruit (plum, raisin, date). Taste is basically the same. Too light for a doppel, IMO, but still decent. Worth trying if you’re in the area. JoeMcPhee (3692), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 16, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Deep brown-amber beer. Aroma is quite subtle, toasted lean malts with some light plummy fruit. Sweet and toasty with a kiss of caramelly mlats. Lighty chewy, sweet and a little bit fruity. Bready but there is a bit of light berryish fruit. A bit of lingering sweetness with a pronounced raspberry fruitiness. It is good, but it ain’t no dopplebock. grandet (306), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA May 18, 2008 Transfering tasting notes. Bottle. Very dark pour with an off white head. Nice roasted flavor with some hops lingering. Very smooth and enjoyable
