I really like the aroma and flavor of this one, but there is a funky dry bitterness in the finish that I don’t love. I’m not sure - maybe this is getting a bit nitpicky... it certainly is drinkable - though when I think of a saison, I’m not thinking it will be close to 7%...

2011 batch. Gold pour, white head. Nose is honey, old hops, florals, yeast and earth. Easy palate heavy honey note, backed with stale hops, florals, earth, and light spice.

12 ounce bottle. Thanks Andrew! Pours a slightly cloudy pale gold with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, yeast, spice, and grass. Taste is lemons, yeast, mint, cloves, malt, and florals. Nice.

Bottle, thanks to joshmcg000. Slightly hazy gold pour with a thin, long lasting bright white head that leaves a surprisingly nice amount of lacing. Aroma of sage, ginger, wet limestone, light cereal, a little tart stone fruit, and some nice, slightly funky yeast. Flavor is cereal, stone fruit and toast up front, leading to the spicy ginger, sage, and peppercorn middle and a nice, spicy, floral and lightly biter citrus peel finish. Light to medium body, slightly creamy entry, moderate, slightly sharp carbonation and off dry finish. Really good stuff.

12oz. bottle: This one pours a hazy, golden color. There wasn’t much of a white head on it, and what was there didn’t linger or leave any lacing. It has a nice aroma. Somewhat musty, with lemon and grapefruit, wheat and some peppery notes. Interesting taste. Some tartness, wheat, spiciness, bit of bitterness, lemon, a touch of yeastiness and breadiness. A very nice Saison. I hope they do it again!

Clear yellow pour with creamy white frothy head and lace. Aroma is sweet brown sugar, citrus, and clove like spices. Nice bready malt, nice spiciness, and a citurs sweetness. Medium body with good carbonation. Nice lingering flavors at the end.

Some citrus, spice and a good amount of funk in the nose but a bit underwhelming. Tastes good with a light fruity flavor, a little alcohol and spice.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a pale fizzy yellow. Small white head atop. Fair amount of bubbles rising throughout. The nose is really herbal, which was expected. Notes of grass, yeast, thyme. Crisp mouthfeel, again expected due to the vast amount of carbonation present. A flavorful beer here with thyme, oregano, lemon pepper, lime, yeast, mild citrus. A lot going on, but it’s almost too strange. This was the last of the 3 versions I needed to try. I don’t think any of the other ones really jumped out at me, and this is no exception. Probably a beer I won’t be visiting again. But hey, the friend I shared it with, it’s his favorite beer. To each their own.
