(bottle). Black color. Large tan, frothy head. Hoppy aroma with light citrus. Strong hop and malt flavors, with ligth alcohol. Long duration. Light bitter finish. Slick texture. Soft carbonation. Fair lacing.

Bottle @ EBF -09. POurs black with tan head. Roasted malt espresso smooth sweetness. Coffee vanilla licorice smooth hops, bitter finish.

Pours completely black with tan head/lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark fruit, chocolate, some pine hops as well. Similar taste, bitter coffee/pine hop finish. Pine finish was a little off-putting. Solid nonetheless.

Bottle shared with scottyp at woody’s. Pours a fantastic black with solid mocha head. The hints of piney hops are a little off putting, but I think as they fade out I’ll enjoy this even more. Great roasty coffee aftertaste. Very good though. Smokey nose and flavor on an aged bottle is very nice.

Bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2009. Black color, lovely tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Flavor is the same, with fine bitterness and a dark fruity finish. Outstanding!

I look into the abyss that was my glass, now completely void of light. A perfectly frothy tan head looms large and lasts long. Big biscuit aromas waft from my glass and tempt my nose. I take a sip and the deep roastiness dances all over my mouth then a very nice astringent bite hits and everything smooths itself away. Chocolate and coffee notes just pop up from time to time on my tongue. They linger until the next sip, which I cannot wait to take. Not overly heavy. I have never wanted to burp so badly just to taste it again. Very nice!!

Bottle. Pitch black beer with a strong off white head. The aroma is roasted and the flavour is deeply roasted and bitter. Overall a very good strong beer.

Bottle poured jet black, like used motoroil. Great hoppy taste! Loved this one!
