Commercial Description:
With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

Pours opaque black with a thin brown head. Aroma is roasted coffee malt with a hint of caramel and raisin sweetness. Flavor is a delicious mix of coffee, chocolate and caramel. A good amount of earthy hop bitterness in the finish. Sharp aftertaste with moderate alcohol burn, but very smooth considering the ABV. An excellent beer all the way around.

Pours a near black brown with medium tan head, minimal lacing. Aroma surprisingly mild of more hops than roasted malt, coffee, and a slight cocoa. Flavor when colder matches the aroma, then as it gets warmer in temperature, changes to a bit more of the roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. Hints of dark, dried fruit evident later. Has a bit of an alcohol burn to finish. Creamy mouthfeel apparent. Overall, not bad, but nothing great.

Bottle. Black with a cream head. Aromas are roast malts with peat smokiness and chocolate. Yeasty with hints of berry. Flavours are very rich bitter strong coffee with liquorice and more green pine than expected. Smooth and slightly oily on the palate. Woody and bitter on the finish with peppery, boozy notes. Really good.

Bottle, courtesy of Smokepot23. Poured opaque black with a large, creamy, dense light brown head, huge sheets of lace on the glass. Aroma is massive roasted malt with a vinous character, hints of coffee and smoke are also detectable. Full bodied, smooth, velvety mouthfeel. Great amount of carbonation. Flavor is burnt malts, tobacco, rasin, and booze. Excellent impy.

Poured from Bottle into Snifter glass. Enjoy by date January 8th, 2014. Pours a deep, dense black but can see just a hint of brown towards the head as I tip the glass, with a huge creamy tan head that dissolves into a nice layer around the glass. Aroma is predominately black coffee with some roasted malts. Flavor has an oddly sweet roasted malt, some coffee and a soft bitterness. Its a medium- to heavy-bodied that coats your mouth with every sip. Enjoyable Imperial Stout but think it would be much better with some age on it to maybe drop some of the sweetness down.

Pours an opaque black with a huge, creamy light-brown head. Aggressive but hard to place aroma - some candy, coffee, malt, maybe a little yeast. Flavor is slightly sweet with plenty of malt, some coffee, and a tangy, bitter finish. The tangy (but not sour) component comes close to overwhelming this stout.

8/4/09 Bottle. Black pour with nice brown head. Aroma and flavor don’t meet what i remember but still a solid RIS. Doesn’t exactly meet the great quality pf some that I have been lucky to try. Original Rating: Great beer by victory. One of the first imperials stout i had tried. Definitely worth buying the six pack although it has gotten a little more expensive.
