I think. I don’t know... my memory is bad. But its head rocks my socks off. Appearance on this is getting a 5 fo sho. Solid black. Amazing aroma. Great taste... and you can’t even tell this is an imperial, really (in other words, the alcohol isn’t strangling your tongue). Just that it tastes so so great. You really can’t go wrong with Storm King. A++ kpresley77 (134), Jackson, Georgia, USA

Aroma is dark fruit and chocolate malt. First taste is chocolate malt with dark fruit backing. Pretty well balanced with a slight roasted malt and strong alcohol bite in the finish. foundmd (163), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Oct 9, 2008 12oz bottle. Aged for about one year. Pours opaque black with a nice mocha head. Some nice lacing too. Big hop flavors and dark chocolate give this complex depth and bitterness. Alcohol is well disguised. A fantastic Imperial. tedovertu (260), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 8, 2008 Toasted strong coffee aroma with some mild grapefruit hops mixed with a little brown sugar. Small light brown head with excellent lacing. Dark Black with some amber notes in the color. Initial light bitter flavor ending about the same. Pretty long duration. Medium body with an oily texture. Light alcoholic presence in the finish. Over rated in my opinion. KnN (716), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA

Flavor is a bit better, but this beer is really thin, in my opinion, for a stout, let alone an imperial. Flavor is a little chocolate, a little roasted malt, but a lot of burnt coffee. I’m not sure why that flavor is so popular in some stouts, but burnt coffee is not a nice thing to have on the palate. Really disappointed. I was expecting more. pj1855 (154), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2008 Pours a black amber color. Small light brown head that mostly dimishes. A malty burnt aroma. Flavor- initially pick up a little chocolate with a burnt coffee finish. Narnad (689), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 7, 2008 Pours dark black with a very small tan head. Aroma is very roasted with a great prune fruitiness. This beer has a great flavor. Starts off sweet prune with a very slight molasses and alcohol flavor moving into a great bitter coffee finish with a slight smokey hint. The great coffee flavor really sticks around and reminds you for minutes after your done of how great this beer tastes. Praetorian (86), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 6, 2008 Black in color with a small, light brown head which quickly deminished. Little if any lacing. The aroma is of strong black coffee, hops, alcohol, oak and molasses. The flavor is of coffee grounds, dark fruits and oak with a strong alcohol backbone. The texture is syrupy with lively carbonation. I’d say its a wonderful stout with an aggressive and complex flavor. The only let down was the texture, otherwise, its superb. A DAMN GOOD BEER!
