Commercial Description:
With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

Great sharp nose. Great mouth feel. Great lacing. Great finish. The malts taste like espresso.

Huge bottle of beer just loaded with everything - alcohol (but not obtrusive), aroma (toasty, coffee), but especially, viscosity and intense flavor. This is one we like to sip slowly and contemplate - right up there with Rasputin for us.

Bottle. Pours black with nice thick head and it maintains (good carbonation). Decent lacing. Aroma was fruity but not so much in flavor. Flavor really reminded me of Founders Breakfast stout - heavy coffee and bitter chocolate - particularly in the aftertaste. The only thing that keeps it a step back from the Breakfast Stout in my mind is the mouthfeel - thinner - you’re not chewing on it for five minutes. Wish I could get more of this within a couple hours drive - this was a terrific brew.

Had a blind side by side with Siberian night impy stout and I’ll say that these are both highly rated impys but they are way different. This impy won the competition just because I like the massive flavor it brings. Aroma: storm king was more roasted and malty whereas the Siberian Night was very very sweet as far as impys go. I love the roasted aroma in an impy stout so I’m kind of biased there. Pours Black nothing out of the ordinary here for an impy. Mouthfeel is nice, this is actually what did it for me. This beer is big, nicely carbonated and nice bitterness from the hops that blends in with the nice roasted malt finish. It just stands up and beats down the siberian night with it’s massive flavor (not to say I didn’t like the Siberian) This is a meaty full beer that keeps you wanting more.

Tap @ Monster B’s in Stamford; Sweet malt aroma and flavor with a pitch black body. Surprisingly alcohol taste is hidden despite the ABV. Very warming; perfect for the winter, but not too abrasive for a summer night.

Pours very black with a foamy frothy medium tan-colored head. A little bit of lacing. The head on this poured about 2 1/2 fingers. Aroma of molasses, coffee, and some sour raspberry notes. A dark burnt bitter chocolate flavor. Extremely dark roasted coffee, caramel, and a touch of raisins. A rich creamy body with a light, but full-bodied carbonation. It leaves a very bitter flavor like black coffee with a negative amount of sugar in it.

Poured from the bottle a dark black with a brown thick head. Immediate aroma of roasted smokey grains, coffee, caramel and chocolate. A think mouthfeel with the taste just like the aroma.
