Surprisingly alcohol taste is hidden despite the ABV. Very warming; perfect for the winter, but not too abrasive for a summer night. Naka (525), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Pours very black with a foamy frothy medium tan-colored head. A little bit of lacing. The head on this poured about 2 1/2 fingers. Aroma of molasses, coffee, and some sour raspberry notes. A dark burnt bitter chocolate flavor. Extremely dark roasted coffee, caramel, and a touch of raisins. A rich creamy body with a light, but full-bodied carbonation. It leaves a very bitter flavor like black coffee with a negative amount of sugar in it. T2Tool (352), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA

Immediate aroma of roasted smokey grains, coffee, caramel and chocolate. A think mouthfeel with the taste just like the aroma. Snojerk321 (1939), San Diego, California, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 1, 2008 12 oz. bottle poured into tumbler- poured unchanged motor oil for a year black, tan whisps for a head, some lacing, medium carbonation that doesn’t get out of control. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and hops. Hits the mouth with a wide and full body, malt is nicely roasted, hard black coffee comes in the middle and just sits on the tongue, finish has lingering coffee malt that won’t go away intertwined with hops that hide the alcohol. Balanced overall and a good wake up brew. I don’t plan on kicking it out of the fridge! tomthompson89 (1473), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
