Commercial Description:
With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

Pours pure black with a light brown head. Aroma is of roasted coffee and chocolate. This is a very rich and complex beer. Great balance with a slight hop kick. Absolutely delicious.

Almost black beer with creamy head and chocolate aroma. Dark chocolate and espresso flavors predominate with hints of raisin and floral hops. Creamy, rich and complex. I really liked this one!

hold this baby up to light and you can’t see through it. truly amazing imperial stout. aroma of smoke and molasses and coffee. flavor is complex, with tons of black coffee, bakers chocolate, roasted chocolate maltiness joining in a well balanced mix of hoppy bitterness. finish is bitter and dry and lasts forever. UPDATE: I tried the cask version today, and it was sublime. lots more creaminess, lots more liquorice, coffee, chocolate. brilliant.

Bottle courtesy of cartdan. Color is black with a brownish head. Aroma is llightly roasted, some coffee and maybe a hint of toffee/chocolate. Taste is sweet, hoppy for a very mild bitter touch and malty, some touch of licorice and light lactose.

Pours a dark brown black color with a small light brown froth. Looks like espresso. Aroma is dark chocolate and coffee with a mot of roasted malt. Flavor starts out with chocolate and sweet malt. Bitterness arrives abruptly in the middle and stays through the finish which has a very strong black coffee taste that lingers. Full bodied and quite rich with a sticky mouth feel. This is an excellent sipper that I shared a 12 oz bottle with two other people and it is so rich that I did not need any more than 4 oz worth. Great beer

3/23/08 notes: poured from 12 oz. bottle, I think this beer is incredible. Big nose of dark chocolate, coffee, smoke, some dark fruit. Full-bodied, complex flavor: roasted malts, molasses, coffee all balanced perfectly. Alcohol is well hidden. So smooth, with a nice mouthfeel and a touch of malty molasses-prune sweetness before a creamy bitter hoppy finish. This beer is tasty and very satisfying (especially for the price).

bottle- tasty- a very smooth and chocolaty imp stout, without overly roasted bitterness or astringency getting in the way. enjoyed it quite a bit.

12oz Bottle. Pours black with almost no head. Coffee, malt and hints of chocolate at the start and then an uppercut of hops at then end to remind your that you that this is a mans beer. Once my palate became adjusted to the bitter finish, I really enjoyed this one.
