Rerate: flavours of creamy coffee and chocolate. + .2 rustychiles (997), Mesa, Arizona, USA May 22, 2008 Pours a dark blackish brown with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, malt, coffee and hops. Flavor is Chocolate, coffee and a surprising amount of hops add something to this beer that you normally don’t find in imperial stouts. I dig this one for it’s unique flavor profile. NoiZe (1288), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands May 22, 2008 Big thnx to flippy! Black colored brew. I really liked this one! Very nice bitterness, very nice roasted malts and smooth taste. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA May 18, 2008 Dark brown with large foamy tan head, slowly dissipating. Aroma of coffee, caramel, roasted malts, sugar and bread. Taste of roasted malts, coffee and light chocolate & caramel malts. Smooth and sweet body with a back end bitterness that packs a bit too much punch drowning out some of the good qualities of the beer. satan165 (540), River Grove, Illinois, USA May 17, 2008 coca cola head, elements present in the nose as well. unlike most imperial stouts ive had which are mostly coffee/chocolate, etc...this one is much busier with hops and delicious biting sharpness on the front of the tounge. looks like it was bourbaned but doesnt have that kind of body evident in the pour or palate. it was a pleasant surprise to find something anew besides roasted malt (though thats certainly present, and it isnt unwelcome). immediately relaxing @ 9.1 yet the flavor of booze is completely not existant. its not hard to see what this is so highly rated. brewers like victory with beers like this under their belt (besides so many others they excel at) are a national treasure. craftycarl21 (510), South Hero, Vermont, USA May 16, 2008 black pour with nice head. beautiful aroma of roasted malt with less coffee than most impys. flavor was delicious, very complex, oily mouthfeel. very tasty overall
