Apr 28, 2008 On tap from Consumer’s...Pours oily black with a gorgeous mocha head that had a hint of red or orange to it. Smell had some hops, lots of coffee beans, and citrus. This IS had a HUGE hop character with lots of chocolate. Was also very roasty. The bitterness lingers for quite awhile, and some more malt and a bit of sweetness presents itself to balance it out better as it warms. Flavor would be a perfect 10 if the bitterness was toned down just a bit in favor of some more sweetness. Overall it was very delicious. I really like the name of this beer too...comes off the tongue nicely.

Apr 27, 2008 Bottle, 12 oz. Pitch black with a large, lasting, rocky tan head. Aroma of grapefruity hops. Oily slick with a slight hop biiter finish. World class!

Apr 26, 2008 A- Pours absolutely black, letting no light through. Big, 2 finger mocha head is present which fades to tons of lacing.
S- My first impression is it smells very hoppy. Pine, Choclate, roasted malts and coffee.
T- Taste is hoppy, with a big coffee flavor. Sort of a burnt taste is there that isnt overpowering. Slight mettalic aftertaste.
M- Fairly light and very carbonated.
D- This is very drinkable for a RIS. I found the hop presence to be enjoyable.

Apr 25, 2008 Victory Storm King Imperial Stout – Pours thick and dark with a medium brown head that leaves very nice lacing. Aroma is roasted coffee, molasses, chocolate. Hint of hops in the nose as well. Has good bitter crispness throughout, with a good balance of sweetness and roasted malt. Nice floral hoppy finish with a very smooth espresso and dark chocolate aftertaste. Body is full and rounded but not overly thick. Balanced, smooth, easy to drink. Currently getting me in a nice frame of mind for Battlestar Galactica.

Apr 25, 2008 Poured a very rich, dark mahogany with a 3/8 inch creamy head.
Smelled of mollasses, caramel, malt. Very little hop aroma.
Taste was exceptional. Just the right amount of sweetness, molasses, maltiness and balanced by a great bitter finish that left the palate nicelly cleansed. The alcohol was extremely well hidden.
Mouthfeel was not overly thick. There was enough carbonation to keep it refreshing. But enough body to let you know that you’ve had a great beer.
This beer is scary drinkable. I could easily down a couple of these in a row, but the ABV would probably knock me over if I did.

Apr 24, 2008 Pours almost black and totally opaque with a brown, thick head. It tastes of wonderful roasted malts with a nice hint of hops in the finish.
This is a simply superb beer, one of my all time favorites. And to think, I can get it close to hope for a reasonable price (for this quality at least.) Amazing!

Apr 24, 2008 Dark pour with a tan head and persistent lacing. Definitely has a rich, burnt malt taste with a strong floral, hoppy finish. One of these can really clear out the logjam in one’s head. Nice imperial stout.

does not count  Apr 22, 2008 I’m sol glad Victory is now doing this year round. Great flavor, aroma, mouthfeel. Notes of toffee, I love this beer.
