Commercial Description:
With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

Bottle... Poured black with a brown head. Warm alcohol and malt aroma. Sweet as hell with chocolate, roasted malt and caramel-ly hops. And the alcohol flavor is modest but present enough to satisfy.

Always loved this beer, just never got around to rating it. Right from the start, you get big roasted barley and malt. The one thing you don’t expect from a RIS is the hop level. Great hop aroma to complement the roasted coffe flavor and the malt. I will never tire of this beer, carry on!!

12 ounce bottle. Pours a motor oil black with a half finger width brown, frothy head. Smelled like dark chocolate with hints of coffee, nuts, and possibly some vanilla. The flavor was an excellent mix of chocolate, malts, and coffee. Had a very full bodied mouthfeel. It left a nice bitter chocolate aftertaste in my mouth. This was an exceptional stout with very little, if any, flaws. I would definitely seek this one out again!

Pours a thick and dark black, with a nice, one-finger, dark brown head. Lighter aroma than expected, of caramel and dried fruits. Flavor is strong, roasty, with hints of chocolate, caramel, and cherry. It warms without having too much of an alcohol-ish finish. Palate is thick and creamy. Overall a nice imperial.

Very nice. Moderate chocolate malts and some hops on the aroma. Pour yields a small, creamy, brown head with good lacing. Color is black. Taste is hoppy with chocolate and some expresso on the finish. Mouthfeel is syrupy with soft carbonation. Quite nice.

2005 bottle. Pours black with a small off-white head. Well balanced between a medium sweet- and bitterness. Some dark chocolate aromas with hints of coffe, especially towards the end. Some alcohol notes. Full bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel. Nice dry alco-finish. Thakns to my secret Santa in July 2006, MrRomeo, I think it was. Good stuff.

12 oz bottle pours a thick black. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. The flavor is of ripe berries and chocolate. The hops have mellowed in this two year old bottle, but there is still a nice bitterness in the finish as well as a little alcohol as the drink begins to warm.

Very drinkable, very enjoyable. 12 oz bottle from Lone Hill Liquors in Glendora, CA. I think the chocolate in this is much more malty than other good stouts - much more whipped like a 3 Mustketeers bar. Maintains its texture very nicely, this does.
