ajm (903), Los Angeles, California, USA Jan 30, 2008 Updated: Sep 29, 2009Very drinkable, very enjoyable. 12 oz bottle from Lone Hill Liquors in Glendora, CA. I think the chocolate in this is much more malty than other good stouts - much more whipped like a 3 Mustketeers bar. Maintains its texture very nicely, this does. supremecrusher (6), Edina, Minnesota, USA does not count Jan 29, 2008 This beer poured like spent motor oil. It had an amazing bouquet of dark malts, dark corn syrup with a chewy mouthfeel. I loved the alcohol coming through in the finish. A great find if you can get it. JaffaHawk23 (38), Broomfield(via Iowa City), Colorado, USA Jan 29, 2008 This is what a stout shout look and feel like. Not a very stong overall aroma but the zing to the palate is very nice. Very bold yet drinkable. Finish is bitter that turns to creamy. Yum. BeMerry (37), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Jan 29, 2008 Aroma of molasses and coffee. Opaque, black with creamy, caramel head that’s small and brief. Complex taste of chocolate, coffee and caramel. Alcohol noticeable and quickly warming. Dry bitterness that’s long lasting in mouth like dark chocolate. baraciisch (138), USA Jan 27, 2008 Decent pour, less head than I like on my stouts. Not too aromatous, but nice nonetheless. Lightly carbonated, which makes it very easy to drink. Alcohol content of 9.1% is well hidden by the malty flavor and nice hoppy finish. Very good imperial stout, nice change from your run of the mill imperial stout that tastes like someone poured vodka in it. Definitely recommend. apshah99 (137), Portland, Oregon, USA Jan 26, 2008 Hoppy aroma, very dark pour with nice tan head. Big roasty malty taste with coffee, distant sweetness with a hoppy bitter chocolate finish. Very smooth, quite dry. Great winter beer for the IPA lover. illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jan 26, 2008 Poured into a snifter. Pitch black with a 1 finger tan head. Very good retention. Dark berry in the nose, some hoppiness, chocolate ice cream. Flavor notes include blackberry, dark chocolate, coffee, currant, tobacco, a nice almond-skin dryness. Huge dose of hops make this pretty unique in the imperial stout arena. Great complexity. The alcohol is not apparent, but it lends a nice residual warmth in the chest that makes this beer great for winter. Not overly thick in body but smooth and velvety. Another great offering from Victory. oreogobbler (217), Austin, Texas, USA Jan 25, 2008 Coffee and heavy malt aroma. Black with a milk chocolate head. Bold flavor. Dark Chocolate Coffee Up front with a heavy hop finish. A little bitter but well balanced. Incredibly smooth. Probably one the best stouts I’ve ever had.
