With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

Massive imperial stout.. what is it about super-strong beers that both the malts and the hops can be seen in full display? (ie Ruination IPA). This beer manages to be simultanously ultra-bitter, sweet and toasty. The nose, however, is mostly roasted malts, which doesn't prepare you for the initial hop attack.

Draft @ Bocktown, PIT. Nice roasty aroma, maybe a little too hoppy. Jet black color, with nice tight bubbles in a thin beige head. Flavor is more like a black IPA, than IS. Full bodied. Overall a good beer, but not really for an IS.

like other commenters suggested, this read more like an imperial black ipa to me. extremely dark and oily with a light beige head. first taste of coffee and caramel followed by a heavy hop bitterness that reminds be of a good double ipa. malty throughout. donít drink stouts much but this is yummy!

Caramel smell, coffee taste, dark as a moonless night looks, oil slick mouthfeel. Like liquid burnt toffee flowing down the throat. Rated by BrewTom

Bottle, black body, walnut colored head, good lacing. Aroma of whiskey, raisin, molasses, dark malt. Taste is bitter malt/citrus rind, hops sprucy resin. Palate is smooth, not super rich, carbonation subdued. This is more of an imperial black IPA.

Wow, is it stout , a black IPA , or something completely new? Biscuit malts mingle with old hops on the aroma. A luxurious mouthfeel, and the warmth of its abv give a supreme winter beer.

Bottle - Pours black with a thin tan head. Really roasty nose, ashy, a bit of piney hop presence, Same taste--lots of charcoal, dry dark roast, pine hops, bitter finish and a bit warming. Slick and fairly thick in the mouth.

Strong roasted coffee start with a bitter hoppy finish. Slightly smokey flavor. Smelks chocolately. Pours black in color with a tan head. Had at home ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Itís got lots of coffee and mostly roasted notes on the nose as well as the palate. Itís almost like a barley wine w/ a roasted finish. Overall, a bit stout thatís roasted and bitter, not sweet.
