3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 DConMan (113) - Ballwin, Missouri, USA - JUL 23, 2012Bought a 12 FL.OZ. bottle of this from the Beer Shoppe in Yakima, WA for $2.36. Poured from the Purple/Black labeled body with a Yellow Owl on the front into a 12oz Shaker Glass. Has Enjoy By Jan 18 2014 on the front of the label.
Aroma- Very strong roast and cocoa nibs on the nose. Espresso came up strong as well!
Appearance- Pours a less then .5 finger head that dies immediately. Has an opaque, deep brown colored body. Leaves a few dark suds of lace behind.
Flavor- Very deep roast and espresso tastes. Malt comes up rich and has a medium bitterness level.
Mouthfeel- Medium-Full Bodied, Lightest Carbonation, Smooth, Creamy, and easy all around.
Overall Impression- When I went to pick this up, I was looking for something similar to a beer I traded this year called Dark Intrigue by Victory. This one was much more light and easy going on the complexity. Would have liked to age this bottle but I forgot I only carried on my luggage for this trip. Overall an average average Russian Imperial Stout but nothing fantastic.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Fatehunter (754) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - MAY 24, 2013
Poured a pitch black body with a thin tan head.
It smells like darkness: black strap molasses, black coffee and roasted malt. Wonderful.
The taste follows the smell. Dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and finishes with burnt wood.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
A great dark, dark stout.

12oz bottle. Pours pitch black with a thin mocha colored head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee, and a subtle hop aroma as well. Taste is hoppy and roasty. Lots of coffee, dark chocolate, piny hops, and some carmel malt sweetness.

Dark black color with an aroma that was surprisingly not that strong. The taste has a blended combination of coffee and a slightly bitter after taste.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Mrnoluv (41) - long beach, California, USA - MAY 17, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 18, 2013 Aroma is coco, little vanilla almost vanilla extract, roasted coffee bean, no light comes through pitch black dark, light head, bitter aftertastes, smokey taste, at charcoal/cofffee/bitter palate. I just wish it had a little more sweetness to match the bitterness, that could be achieved with a little more ABV, this one needs to be a 10-10.5 imo. Great beer, just a little more kick, sweetness and it is up there with the best bitter stouts.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 deaconmike (68) - Roswell, USA - MAY 8, 2013
On tap at Taco Mac. I’m an IPA guy, so this was right up my alley. Plenty of hops in this imperial stout. The aroma is somewhat subdued - roast, chocolate, coffee. The hops dominate the taste. If you are looking for sweet, caramel maltiness, look somewhere else. Nice smooth, drinkable brew. I’ll be back! Another great offering from Victory.
