Ungstrup (14724), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 27, 2004 What a great beer to celebrate my 1.500th rating. Thanks to Jeppe (BierKönig) for sharing this one with me. It pours black and has a fine brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of smoke and coffee. And the flavor is sweet too with notes of smoke and coffee before the sweetness gives way to a great bitter end. A fantastic flavor in a fantastic beer with a great body. This is the best beer I've tasted so far - and comes very close to 5.0. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 20, 2005 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Pitch black and opaque with a creamy, light brown head. Roasted, vinous aroma. Dry body with roasted notes and plenty of dried fruit - raisins in particular. Some notes of chocolate also. 031205 omhper (12147), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 3, 2002 Updated: Sep 28, 2007Very rich, very black, roasty and burnt. Outstanding! Tobacco and erarth, tarry finish. yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 8, 2008 RB#4900: 12 fl oz bottle, huge thanks to Grovlam for providing this treat! Pours pitch black with a lacing tan head. Solid roasted and chocolate malt with a mild alcohol bite. Flavour is smooth with a nice hoppy bitterness that goes through from beginning to end. Mixed with a nice roasted malt flavour and gradually going into a nice chocolate smoothness and back again with a solid roasted malt and mixed with a hoppy bitternes.. Ends with a smooth to sharp roasted malt flavour. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Nov 21, 2008 Bottle 50cl. @ home. [ Courtesy of Secret Santa ]. Clear medium to dark black color with a average, frothy, excellent - good lacing, fully - mostly lasting, beige head. Body is medium, texture is creamy - oily, carbonation is soft. (080908) oh6gdx (8795), Vasa, Finland Apr 8, 2007 Bottled (2004 vintage). Very dark brown/close to black colour, small brown head, that disappears fast. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, slightly hoppy and caramellish. Flavour is roasted malts, hops, some coffee and wood. The hoppyness disturbs me a bit, otherwise it’s a very nice and wellbalanced impy stout. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Dec 20, 2005 Bottle. Almost black colour. Very nice flavour.
