Commercial Description:
With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

Bottled. Really good impy stout but not quite great. IMHO I think it was overly-hopped. The hop characteristics seemed to overpower everything else in the aroma and flavour. Still a good stout but really missing the chocolate, coffe and malt tones.

Sour, slightly moldy chocolate and roast malt aroma with leather and some cardboard. Amazingly light and fruity flavor with dark fruit upfront, followed delicate cocoa, cola and vanilla. Reminds me of a Dopplebock crossed with an Imperial Stout. Distinct.

Black in color. Head is medium-large, chocolate brown, and drops after a few minutes leaving behind a ring and nice lacing. Truly delicious aroma: citric hops, cocoa powder, milk chocolate, peat, and a little smoke. Syrupy, milky and rich mouthfeel. Flavor is mossy wet coffee grounds, mildly biting hops, and finish is slightly sweet with maple notes. Despite the huge and roasted aroma, the flavor is overall rather mellow. Quite nice.

Bottle... Poured black with a brown head. Warm alcohol and malt aroma. Sweet as hell with chocolate, roasted malt and caramel-ly hops. And the alcohol flavor is modest but present enough to satisfy.

Bottle - The coffee/bitter chocolate taste and the part bitter/part sweet aftertaste make this a top notch beer. I would love to try this on tap. NOTE: I would wait at least 6 months from the date on the bottle to drink this. It improves greatly given at least that amount of time.

Very black with a thick brown head. Roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Roasted coffee and hop flavor. Burnt dark chocolate finish. I can’t taste any alcohol at all.

Bottle. Pitch black, with a thin head.. Aroma is a nice burst of malt and chocolate. Flavor is that of light coffee, unsweetened dark chocolate, and a bit of hops. The beer is very smooth, and the alcohol is hidden perfectly. "Enjoy By Nov01 11" - not sure what that means.

This stout has great chocolate-coffee flavor, which masks the high alcohol content...until it burns your esophagus. Nonetheless, I think this is an important addition to my ’favorite stout’ list.
