COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

Sampler (and then glass) from brewpub. After sampling this I was honestly shocked at the abv level of it. Great imp stout, nice and roasty with the hop presence to be expected in an imp stout.

Aroma: intense roasted malts, coffee, espresso. Appearance: black, medium creamy beige head. Taste: light bitter and sweet. Palate:bitters intensify immediately, but so do the sweets, roasted flavours, coffee, dark fruits, prunes, intense bitters in the long, dry finish. Overall: massive Imperial Stout, intensely complex aroma and palate. Bottle from BottleDog Kings Cross, Holborn.

Cellared one year Pours deep brown/black with a small tan head that maintains through out this session as a small wispy veil in the center of a small foam ring. Aromas of roasted malts and a slight hoppiness. Sweet malt tasting with some hop bitterness. The hops seemed to have mellowed out as I expected. Malts have a chocolate espresso flavor. A rich full bodied beer that has some grittiness on finish. The flavors after a year have mellowed out nicely. A nice rich stoudt beer with a good dose of hidden alcohol. After reviewing I finished the beer off with a couple chunks of smoked gouda. They went together nicely.

Bottled 28/06/14. A pitch black beer with a dissipating tan coloured head. Thick soy and bitter roast flavours. A long finish. Lots of booze (this bottle is probably five or more years old). Deep, fruity and burnt. Rich and tasty.

12 fl oz bottle from Brewdog online store. Black browm colour, foamy beige head leaving alittle lacing and aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, liquorice with a juicy dark fruit hoppy edge. Taste is smokey roast malt, molasses, earthy, coffee, with an underlying woody fruity grassy spicey hop bitterness. Medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, warming dry roast bitter finish. Very drinkable.

This one’s a winner. Pours a super dark brown color, and has a khaki head. I have to give appearance a knock here: I like my imperial stouts to have a dark chocolate head. Has great lacing and alcohol legs though. Aroma is lots of piney hops up front, then the chocolate, oak, woody characteristics, coffee, vanilla, etc take over. The taste is uber smokey and woody, with a little vanilla and mild chocolate. Mouthfeel is a little thin for my liking in an imperial stout. Another slight knock, but this is a standout beer, and I"ll definitely try it again, especially in the winter months.

12 oz Bottle. Tasted on 6/22/14. Bottle from Total Wine Dallas, TX. The aroma has coffee, espresso, dark chocolate & a strong hop aroma as well. The taste is rich & smooth with a well balanced finish that is slightly bitter. A very dry finish & not too much sweetness. My kind of stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
