bottle 12oz. large foam sandy color head. thick lacing lines throughout. poured black - didn’t notice any lightening toward the edges. sweet smell and bready. tastes are coffee and bitter citrus notes.

Aug 6, 2008 Tap @ Monster B’s in Stamford; Sweet malt aroma and flavor with a pitch black body. Surprisingly alcohol taste is hidden despite the ABV. Very warming; perfect for the winter, but not too abrasive for a summer night.

Aug 3, 2008 Pours very black with a foamy frothy medium tan-colored head. A little bit of lacing. The head on this poured about 2 1/2 fingers. Aroma of molasses, coffee, and some sour raspberry notes. A dark burnt bitter chocolate flavor. Extremely dark roasted coffee, caramel, and a touch of raisins. A rich creamy body with a light, but full-bodied carbonation. It leaves a very bitter flavor like black coffee with a negative amount of sugar in it.

Aug 2, 2008 Poured from the bottle a dark black with a brown thick head. Immediate aroma of roasted smokey grains, coffee, caramel and chocolate. A think mouthfeel with the taste just like the aroma.
