COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

Bottle at stout NYC. Pours an almost black color, minimal mocha head. As expected the initial aroma is intense fresh hoppiness, drowning out any maltiness, then as the drink warms up the roastiness is more evident. Taste was fairly bitter throughout. Very active on the palate, very crisp/bitter aftertaste. Very intense, good change of pace compared to a regular imperial stout, woudnt have more than one at a time though.

Pours black , small grey head . Smell is bit sweet, bitter dark malts . Taste is bitter, really familiar yet weird .. Coffe / cacao in its purest form . Pure , burnt maltyness . some oat-bitterness in there as well . Finish is bitter, pure cacao with coffee-bitter undertones . As well as some very earthy hop bitterness . Truly unique so far - to me - and I quite like it . Body is rather thin, carbonation is rather high . I’d say if those 2 would be upscaled, this would be a blast !

Beer #8 of 13 in blind tasting.
After years of drinking this beer I finally rated it. In the blind tasting, I got a strong fruity character, more so than any other in the beer. Slightly earthy beer, low acidity, even the dark malts were not strong. Bitter hop finish. In hindsight, this beer has changed a lot over the years but hasn’t been too interesting in a while.
In the aggregate, this finished as average as possible.

Laang ettersmak. Life is good.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 23.02.15. Pitch black. Beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, American hops and pine. Similar taste. Good and interesting.

This is a very dark beer that is good on cold nights. Good aroma and a creamy head. Nice palate with great overall taste.

Very nice. Good roast. Moderate hops. So far I’ve liked everything I’ve had from Victory.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Aroma is a bit hoppy but has an overwhelming feeling of roasted malts, chocolate and vanilla. Aroma is very complex and rich. Pours black with a beige head. Taste is rich and complex of malts, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and a hint of bitter hops. Palate is full though could be even richer. Overall a really nice beer, even though it isn’t impressive - just solid.

12oz bottle from Deguchiya in Naka-meguro. Poured into a snifter. Oil slick black with a medium-sized soapy beige head. Strong hop-forward aroma with a roasted nose. Currant, raisin, prune, fennel all present with a strong toasted cacao nib and roasted coffee flavor as well. Full bodied with medium carbonation. Slightly sweet and bitter finish.

12 oz bottle, pours black moderate tan head.. The aroma of hops hit me right away, which was unexpected, then the roasted malt. Flavor of bitter coffee and cocoa. This brew was thinner than expected with lively carbonation and a bitter finish. This brew seemed to be a bit different from most Imperial Stouts, but I liked it. I look for something else from Victory.
