That deep mahogany woody aroma blended with clean fresh hops is addictive. Chocolate is only feel between those bricks. Surprisingly mellow this stout is. Mellow, like an ancient tree. Powerful, sure of its potential yet quiet as a newcomer. Balancing of this beer is great. You love hops you got them, you love roasted malt you got them (although here is slight dent on perfect picture, here there is tiny place for improvement.) Drinkable as a best dunkel, bitter ale that got mere 3.5 %. This one is over 9. Yes. One of those beer that if have at home wont last till next day.

Smell is roasty and hoppy. Taste is very bitter, dark chocolate/coffee like flavors as well as hop bitterness. Alcohol at 9% is hidden well. Really solid imperial stout.

12oz bottle. Pours pitch black with a thin mocha colored head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee, and a subtle hop aroma as well. Taste is hoppy and roasty. Lots of coffee, dark chocolate, piny hops, and some carmel malt sweetness.

Dark black color with an aroma that was surprisingly not that strong. The taste has a blended combination of coffee and a slightly bitter after taste.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2013 Aroma is coco, little vanilla almost vanilla extract, roasted coffee bean, no light comes through pitch black dark, light head, bitter aftertastes, smokey taste, at charcoal/cofffee/bitter palate. I just wish it had a little more sweetness to match the bitterness, that could be achieved with a little more ABV, this one needs to be a 10-10.5 imo. Great beer, just a little more kick, sweetness and it is up there with the best bitter stouts.

Pours black with cream colored head. Has flavors of a mild hop bitterness up front with a toasted malt finish with hints of coffee.

On tap at Taco Mac. I’m an IPA guy, so this was right up my alley. Plenty of hops in this imperial stout. The aroma is somewhat subdued - roast, chocolate, coffee. The hops dominate the taste. If you are looking for sweet, caramel maltiness, look somewhere else. Nice smooth, drinkable brew. I’ll be back! Another great offering from Victory.

A hoppy stout!? Plenty of character, the hops on the front of the palate somehow balance with the toasted malts.
Opens up like an IPA and closes out like a coffee stout, I suppose that I'll have to keep drinking to be sure what I think here...

Bottle. Pours very dark, tan head. Smells roasty. Tastes like coffee, roasty, slightly bitter, creamy. Full, heavy. Good.

Bottle. Pours a deep rich brown with a surprisingly thin head. Very strong hops on tip of the tongue and rich malt finish. Very tasty and not Guinness heavy.
