With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

12 ounce bottle- poured out an opaque dark brown with a minimum tan head. Aroma was all malt. Taste was malt, coffee and dark fruits at first, but with a bitter bite at the end. Palate was very thin for an Imperial. Okay, but only okay. Will not rate a spot in my beer fridge.

Draft. It was black poured with a thin tan head. It was served very cold so the aroma is muted somewhat, however as it warmed it did not offer anything more than the roasted malt and dark chocolate flavorings. A little thickness on the tongue with a very smooth finish.

Really good. Easy drinking. Lingers a bit long but lots of taste and a good scent. Well done.

Pours black with a thick and inviting tan foam. Aroma of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, licorice and dark fruit. Full body, creamy feel, average carbonation. Taste is smoky with lots of dark roasted coffee, pine needles and some alcohol. The long lasting finish is wooden and quite dry.

Opaque black with a nice tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate and coffee. Creamy, with a strong coffee finish. Not at all boozy. Good one.

Litt vel skummende. Men veldig riktig smak i forhold til øltypen. Masse brentkarakter. Masse fylde og en lett alkoholsødme i bakgrunnen. Dette er en Impstout med klasse. Nytes i fulle drag.

Aroma- Spice, Strong Coffee Appearance- Thick & Saucy, Dark Brown almost black, Relatively little head Taste- First sip was harsh, Almost like a shot of 80 proof liquor. The flavor gets more robust and enjoyable with every next sip until you’re sad it’s gone. The harshness goes away. This is a truly incredible Imperial Stout

On bottle from Vinmonopolet Norway, on order. Pitch black, good offwhite foam. Medium / high aroma intensity; hoppy, roasted, leather & licorice . Full body & high complexity . Good bitterness and balance. Very enjoyable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft on nitro! APPEARANCE- Pure black, nougat colored head that?s supremely creamy on nitro. NOSE- sweet scents of dark chocolate and malty goodness. FLAVOR- deep roasty notes from the first sip though the swallow. Delicious. Really complex roasted malt flavors that keep going, just enough hop to balance it all with bitterness. NOTES- Responds super well to nitro. It’s like a different beer than on CO2. Perhaps better than any other beer I?ve seen.

No visible date. Grrrr. Nearly opaque black. Tan 1.5 inch bubbly, creamy head from a moderately agressive pour that recedes slowly, lumpily, leaving thick lacing, eventually becoming a thin collar. Overall, an excellent looking stout. Aroma is sweet fruits, a hint of chocolate, coffee, roastiness. Thick feel with little carbonation. Taste starts out with dark fruits, roasty malts, and transitions to a nicely balanced bitterness in the finish. It is true that the level of hops bittering is greater than would be the style standard, but it works very well in this big beer. Moderate booziness remains in the back of the mouth and the throat. This is a very tasty, wonderful imperial stout. Well balanced between the sweet dark fruits and roasty malt and hops bittering. Perhaps a bit more booze evident than you’d expect for 9.1% ABV, but nonetheless, highly recommended.

Pours a black body with dense, creamy, tan and long-lived head that laces the glass excellently. Sweet, malty and very strong aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, sweet overripe generic fruits and sugar. Strong flavour of roasted malt, chocolate (that isn’t as obvious as in the aroma), liquorice and chocolate in the back. A bit too much of this overripe fruitiness and some strange-ish herbal notes, also a tad too sugary, The taste is moderate to heavy sweet and the long-lasting finish is moderate bitter, with a nice touch of pine. Perfect mouthfeel: it’s full-bodied, oily and smooth with a fairly soft carbonation. It all ends rather dry. A very nice brew, but I’d actually hoped for even more from this one (that’s the drawback of not doing blind tasting, I guess).
