Brewed locally at the Victory Brewery in Chester County, the Summer of Love Ale is a golden ale made with pale malts, German hops and Brandywine River water. This specific style of beer was chosen because it has a broad appeal and will be accessible for casual beer drinkers, but will still retain exciting hop notes.

The brew has a vibrant and refreshing pale color derived from its lean and refreshing malt body. And the initially floral aroma of hops segues into a well integrated, refreshing hop dryness of European heritage.

Tasted from bottle. Pours a clear gold with white head. Aroma of grass, grains, citrus fruits and biscuits. Taste is moderately sweet with a mild to moderate bitterness. Flavors of grass, biscuits, caramel. Light to medium bodied. Pretty crisp and refreshing on the palate. A very gold blond best on a hot day. Definitely sessionable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

More bitterness than expected, in a good way. Definitely some fruity flavors going on, a bit reminiscent of pineapple or banana. Less refreshing on the finish than expected from something marketed as a "summer beer, as the bitterness lingers somewhat, but still pretty solid. Still, I would say off the bat that this might be the Victory offering I’ve liked the least in recent memory, just because it’s not my favorite style.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Crystal clear golden body with a fluffy white head. Steady carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of grass, herbs and muted lemon notes. Flavour is grassy and floral with a peppery finish. Thin body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. I reckon fruity hops and a lower ABV makes for a better ’summer beer’. This bottle was 5.2% ABV.

Pours a slightly hazy pale gold and a full fluffy white head with plenty of lace. Nice herbal grassy aroma. Taste is sweet pale malt, biscuits, herbal seasonings, mown grass and mild yet assertive hoppiness. Excellent summer offering.

Pours a nice light golden hue with a big head and good lacing on the glass.

The aroma has a light doughy breadiness... but other than that it’s herbal hops all over the place. Spicy & pungent, really nice smelling.

The flavor has a touch of malt sweetness up front, but finishes very dry. It’s got a little bit of hop fruitiness but like the aroma promises this one is just abound with really fantastic herbal happiness, sharp and wonderfully bitter without going overboard in any way.

Fantastic beer.
