Brewed locally at the Victory Brewery in Chester County, the Summer of Love Ale is a golden ale made with pale malts, German hops and Brandywine River water. This specific style of beer was chosen because it has a broad appeal and will be accessible for casual beer drinkers, but will still retain exciting hop notes.

The brew has a vibrant and refreshing pale color derived from its lean and refreshing malt body. And the initially floral aroma of hops segues into a well integrated, refreshing hop dryness of European heritage.

Pale citrine color, tall head, spotty lacing. Assertive resinous nose (percevejo). Light body, mild flavor, avg length. Bitter, dry, Corn flavor in background, hops up front. Not light enough for the summer, nor rich enough for the cold weather. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2014 For a blonde ale this is tops but I feel it has more in common with a pilsner than even the hop ticket hopped up pils-rating as a blonde either way: very pilsner like aroma with excellent dry peppery hops, dry citrus, bread and honey - flavor is a bit hollow malt wise but retains good pilsner character, dry bready/wheatiness, yeast, and strong hops - as a pilsner this is very good, as a blonde its great

on tap at Bertucci’s - very good. Thought it was an IPA because of the hoppiness. Great aroma and flavor - good stuff!

A crisp bit light summer beer. Not too much going on, but smooth. Pours a light golden. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very interesting. I would have guessed session IPA. Light, crisp hops up front. hazy pale golden body with small silky head. Citrus hops (subdued) in aroma and taste. Crisp and refreshing.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, golden yellow with a two finger, white head. Aroma is more traditional, European hops, bready biscuit, and some fruity esters. Taste is balanced. Slightly toasted biscuit with some pilsner qualities, and traditional/German hops. Medium-full body with a medium carbonation. Slightly creamy/fuller mouth feel with a soft carbonation. Overall a very approachable beer for most. Classic flavours with a a refreshing drinkability.

Bottle. Gold with an inch of white head. Aroma of hay, flowers, a little peach and lemon, spices. Lightish bodied, high carbonation is a bit much for me. Restrained fruit and hay, dry and bitter finish with lingering floral and peppery notes. A little too austere and too bubbly, but a good, sharpening beer..

Keg at the Rake. Light apricot and peach. Not so exciting. Light graininess. Little bit sweet.
