Brewed locally at the Victory Brewery in Chester County, the Summer of Love Ale is a golden ale made with pale malts, German hops and Brandywine River water. This specific style of beer was chosen because it has a broad appeal and will be accessible for casual beer drinkers, but will still retain exciting hop notes.

The brew has a vibrant and refreshing pale color derived from its lean and refreshing malt body. And the initially floral aroma of hops segues into a well integrated, refreshing hop dryness of European heritage.

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2012 On tap at Mellow Mushroom. Clear, pale yellow color. Not a bug head. Immediate hop smell, but then clear grapefruit. Hoppy, smooth taste. Nice summer beer, but stayed too floral through the drinking process. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fantastic hops punch, yet surprisingly light on the pallet. Not too much alcohol, perfect for hot days. Just might be my new favorite.

Zesty, buttery aroma with well-brewed hops. Clear, very bright yellow beer, bad label. Drier than I thought it would be. Grassy, moderately bitter with vegetable hops flavors. Flaccid at first, not as crisp as I expected, and the mouthfeel is a bit watery -- I’ve got to dock this for palate/mouthfeel, but it does finish out with a nice bitterness. Summer beer? To be sure -- a bunt single, but not what I expect out of Victory. Enjoyed while watching FSU hand Stanford its worst baseball loss in school history in the Super Regional. ABC Liquors, Betton.

Bottle. Floral, subtle grapefruit aroma. Golden body with thin dissipating head. Flavor begins malty with bitter hops followed by citrus notes. Dry, with a floral finish and a bitter aftertaste.

Draft at Coda, Boston. Pours a light yellow hazy color with a small white head. Nose is nice fresh grass, light yeasty aroma. Palate is crisp and refreshing, great summer feel. Flavor is light up front with some grass and straw but finishes with a light lemon zest and a very nice floral hop note in the back end.

This is quite the session-able beer here. Lots of grapefruit, hops and bread in the nose - altogether an enticing bouquet. The body is bitter and sticky, again with grapefruit but also a touch of honey and wheat. Finishing with a clean dry aftertaste that is light and refreshing, this beer could simply be consumed all damn day.

Bottle. Pours a golden hue with a very thick creamy head. Nice lacing. Piney citrus nose with a hint of grass. Skunky at first but after it breathes a sip brings citrus initially with apeppery finish that lasts a good long time. With that it still finishes clean and fresh! Excellent summer beer.

Great seasonal! Straw colored pour. Peppery hop smell with some lemon and yeast. Fruity and citrus taste. Mango and grapefruit. Robust flavors, but light and drinkable. Could down a few at ballgame for sure.

12oz bottle pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with a small white head. Aroma of grazzy sweet hops and citrus fruits, mango, and grapefruit. Clean and crisp, slight fruits, with a mild spicy hop bitterness. Nice summer ale!
