COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed locally at the Victory Brewery in Chester County, the Summer of Love Ale is a golden ale made with pale malts, German hops and Brandywine River water. This specific style of beer was chosen because it has a broad appeal and will be accessible for casual beer drinkers, but will still retain exciting hop notes.

The brew has a vibrant and refreshing pale color derived from its lean and refreshing malt body. And the initially floral aroma of hops segues into a well integrated, refreshing hop dryness of European heritage.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours light golden with a fluffy, white head. Aroma of pale malts with toasted and cereal notes and strong floral hops. It’s very different to taste the hops that much as I find most European beers to be underhopped. Average texture. A pretty good beer.

12oz bottle from decanted. Pours clear and blonde in colour, nice big, frothy white head. Aroma and taste are nice mild maltiness balanced by noble hops. A great summer beer. Good beer for converting people onto craft!

12oz bottle: Pours a clear pale golden with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a fresh floral noble hoppy nose with a clean underlying light malty sweetness. Starts with good fullness for the style and finely dissolved carbonation with a nice pale malty sweetness well-balanced with a crisp herbal hop bitterness and flavor before a drier, smooth finish. An incredibly drinkable, yet well-flavored, brew that makes for a great session beer.

Small but sticky head. Pleasantly peppy pale ale aroma. Summer Love seems like a slightly green, resiny pale ale. It goes down easy with a little fizzy hop quality lingering in the background. Pale malts and German hops, as the label says, make for another fine release from Victory, who have a high hits to misses ratio.

Shenandoah Throwdown. 12oz bottle, thanks ryan. Crystal clear apple juice body, medium off-white head, nice lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet, orange/grapefruit, some lemon, bread. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit/orange, some bread, light lemon. Soft light-medium body, some acidity, light resin.

Ar: Resin and moss, quite dank and hoppy. Ap: Clear straw- golden - big and airy white head - sudsy - with really good retention. T: Moss and resin flavors dominate up front, very hoppy - transitions into a light and semi-sweet cracker maltiness - bitterness is medium-high, but very clean and soft. P: Medium-high bitterness with a slightly slick mouthfeel - finish is fairly dry, thanks in part to the hops. O: An aggressive, and hoppy, blond ale - both quenching and flavorful.

This is a great summer ale. Strong citrus (grapefruit/lemon zest) and grassy flavor work for this refreshing blonde ale. I had a few of these on a very hot 90 degree day mowing my lawn, and it was one of the most refreshing beers I have ever had on a hot day. The mouthfeel was smooth, refreshing, and easy to drink. Carbonation was lively, but just right for this style. Overall, just a great summer ale. Highly recommended, and you will love the dog days of summer with Summer Love from Victory.

Tap. Pours a clear yellow body with a small fizzy white head that faded to a wispy film. The nose is light and very clean with bready pale malt, a little crackery malt, and a nice moderate hoppiness. At times I’m getting a little bit of a soapy note though. The flavor is nicely hoppy for a Golden Ale, grassy and floral with just enough bitterness. Dry crackery maltiness really makes for a crisp and refreshing summer beer. Mouthfeel is light and fizzy with some nice lingering bitterness on the back end. This is really quite good, one of the best Golden Ales I’ve had to date.

Draft at The Distillery in Savannah, GA. Gold color and served with an ultra thin head on top. Not much sticks around. Buttery flavor with toffee notes, lightly toasted bread, sweet corn, grain, very mild hop bitterness. Not really into the buttery/toffee thing going on here. This was thirst quenching in the middle of a hot day but not much more than that.

bottle at flying saucer. Pours a clear yellow gold with small frothy white head that leaves spotty lacing. The aroma is bready malt and wet dog. Thin moutfeel with a light wheat flavor and citrus. Crisp finish, a good blond from Victory.
