3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap. Clean lines. Beer pours golden with a red tint; lively head. Aroma is wheaty but mild. Good head retention. Taste is clean with a nice flavor profile into a medium body; smooth finish with a clean aftertaste - excellent summer beer; very impressed with the 2011 version!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours clear gold and lively with a fluffy 2-finger beige head that falls slowly. Aromas of mild wheat, light tropical fruit (guava), some grass and hay, and a little cheddar cheese? Hmm. Flavor is light bitter grass and tropical fruit, with slight tart fruitiness. Lively, smooth, and refreshing, and really pretty drinkable on a hot day. Good.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours out a yellow color with a thick white head on it. Smell is hoppy, grassy, with a little bit of corn / malt smell. Taste is smooth and easy to drink. A pretty good session style beer that doesnt try too hard to be something it isnt. Good enough for me.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Hay and dandelion aroma. Clear yellow, thin head. Lilly flavor, very dry. Marigold finish. Very floral, bitter, off balance. Could really use a greater malt presence. Its more like drinking vase water than beer, and therefore, not something I particularly want in the summer.

3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Translucent gold with a thin white head, sticky medium body with medium-high carbonation.
Aroma: lots of lemony Noble hops, and sweet pale malt.
Taste: lots of lemony herbal hops, and a bit of pale malt.
The yeast is pretty clean. The hops are great (Perle?), and though German in origin, certainly not German in usage. "Accesible for casual beer drinkers" –I don’t think so. This is a west coast pale ale made with German hops. It could use a bit more malt for balance.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours gold with a creamy/bubbly white head. Strong citric hop aroma. Med body. Flavor is light grapefruit/citrus/herb/spice over a little light caramel. It’s quite dry. Amazing flavor for a light summer beer. Must be the water.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Nose of citric pale malt with nice bready noble efficiency (Hallertauer?) and some surprising PNW grapefruit and orange peel (they’re right to call it exciting!). Clear golden with a sudsy cream head. Watery thin body with a malty body and nice celery and stinging citrus hops, sunny and resolving to a bready finish. Lemon and cracker and a hint of hoppy spice on the sides. Clean and lively, with just a tad more alcohol than I usually find in this sort of offering; a bit of hop weariness on the tongue after significant volume, but this is still insanely drinkable. Surprised at how awesome this is, and thinking I want to splurge on a case.
