COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed locally at the Victory Brewery in Chester County, the Summer of Love Ale is a golden ale made with pale malts, German hops and Brandywine River water. This specific style of beer was chosen because it has a broad appeal and will be accessible for casual beer drinkers, but will still retain exciting hop notes.

The brew has a vibrant and refreshing pale color derived from its lean and refreshing malt body. And the initially floral aroma of hops segues into a well integrated, refreshing hop dryness of European heritage.

spot on with its design: light, drinkable, tad lagerish. should appeal to the masses but does have a stronger malt base with some (though light) hoppiness. overall, a pretty decent beer made for summer.

Bottle. Gold with an inch of white head. Aroma of hay, flowers, a little peach and lemon, spices. Lightish bodied, high carbonation is a bit much for me. Restrained fruit and hay, dry and bitter finish with lingering floral and peppery notes. A little too austere and too bubbly, but a good, sharpening beer..

8/15/2014. From bottle. Golden yellow with a white head. Floral, hoppy aromas with light fruit and grain. Refreshing and bitter. not bad at all.

Keg at the Rake. Light apricot and peach. Not so exciting. Light graininess. Little bit sweet.

Bottle 355ml. Pours clear blond with low-medium white head. Aroma is of citrus, hay, sugar, some flowers. Taste is of grain, citrus, sugar, bitterness. Palate: Light-medium body. Medium carbonation. Overall: Good. Straight-forward. No major flaw.

Slightly hazy amber with little carbonation. Mild citrus on the nose, and some sweet fruit on the palate. Easy drinking and decent flavors.

Bottle. Nice stuff. Reminds me of a hoppy pils or kolsch -- drinks very clean and easy. Solid hop presence both on the nose and taste. Dry, pleasantly bitter and overall very enjoyable.

Wow, this beer totally caught me off guard. It has a medium thick body with a malty sweet flavor. Finish is sweet, only mildly hoppy. It’s silky. It’s good but I wouldn’t call it crips. It kind of lingers.

DATE REVIEWED: August 1, 2014... GLASSWARE: pint... OCCASION: finding a new favorite show in Drunk History at State College...APPEARANCE: pale, almost wan, weak yellow car body; pillowy white, single-finger head that thins rather quickly... AROMA: sharp banana; damp yeasts with some funk--a wet blanket? noticeably light malt scents--not very alluring ... PALATE: medium-bodied; oily and palpably gritty; smooths out over the course of the glass draining; refreshing overall ... TASTE: light, spritzy lemon; a bit doughy for an ale; the funk in the aroma bleeds into the taste--odd dish detergent lingers... OVERALL: an oddly spotty offering from Victory--sharp and slightly abrasive with the overall experience rounding out the profile with some acceptance, but a mix of scents and tastes that do not seem to coexist peacefully... light enough to fit the season, but not large enough to occupy attention or demand a revisit....

Bottle at The Euston Tap. No notes, from memory. Clear blonde, white head. Floral hops, followed by some decent bitterness in the finish. Light, fizzy refreshing and very enjoyable.
