Commercial Description:
As invigorating as the morning rays of the summer sun, Sunrise Weissbier satisfies when the heat is on, too. This unfiltered, Bavarian style ale is true to its origins with all ingredients except for the water having been imported from Germany. It remains unfiltered to feature the tangy, fruity flavors of its unique yeast. The imported German malt contributes greatly to add a crisp, citric snap that makes this beer a superb summertime refresher.

Bottle. Pours clear gold with a substantial white head. Cloves a hint of honey and bubblegum on the aroma. Light body active carbonation. The cloves predominate in the taste as well, with a bit of bread and banana. Crisp and spicy finish that fades into floral hops.

I didn’t initially know this was a German Hefeweizen, so I tried a second pour after having roused the yeast. Cloudy gold, softer flavor a bit more banana, some apple, yeast and really, a pretty damn good Hefeweizen. I’m jacking my score up.

For anyone who wants a well rounded clove-dominated Hefe, this is your beer!

Cloudy dark gold, decent white head. Nice aroma of citrus and, uh, more citrus. Flavor is lemony at first, then a nice note of banana and bubblegum. Not particularly complicated, but tasty and refreshing.

Orange, banana, apple and clove in the nose. The oranges really pop out of this one. A slightly cloudy light yellow. Banana, yeast, grain and a bit of alcohol in the flavour. Tangy all around. This one is nummy.

Pours really light. A pale, faded honey color, with a very small head. Wheat, other grains (cereal), a slight honey sweetness and a bit of citrus in the aroma. The flavor is more floral, or herbal - and weaker. Not very good. I suppose this would be good on a hot day, but what wouldn’t? Very, very "meh."

12oz bottle. Ranked 1st out of 4 in my blind Hefe tasting [4th Arbor Bavarian Bliss, 3rd Sam Adams, 2nd Stoudts Heifer-in-Wheat] Pours a cloudy straw/bright gold with a medium thicker white fine froth. Aroma is really nice, quite yeasty, juicy apples, spicy banana, clove, vanilla, full, softly rich, very fragrant, decadent 8.5. Flavor is delicate and dry, soft green banana, white pepper, fried dough, super yeasty, juicy sweetness. Med/light bodied with a smooth mouthful, sharper but smooth sizzling carbonation.

Cloudy yellow pour with a huge white head. Lemon, bread, banana and spice aromas. Nice and dry and an excellent summer brew.

Hazy yellow pour with a pale orange tinge. Lots of bubbles and carbonation. Very thick white head on top. Sweet malt aroma with hints of honey and spice. Bitter yeast flavor with a touch of banana. Way over carbonated, but refreshing and light.
