Commercial Description:
As invigorating as the morning rays of the summer sun, Sunrise Weissbier satisfies when the heat is on, too. This unfiltered, Bavarian style ale is true to its origins with all ingredients except for the water having been imported from Germany. It remains unfiltered to feature the tangy, fruity flavors of its unique yeast. The imported German malt contributes greatly to add a crisp, citric snap that makes this beer a superb summertime refresher.

12 oz. bottle from Shoreline. Drank on 8/14/06. Slightly cloudy yellow. 1" fizzy white head. Drops quickly to a thin layer / ring. No lacing. Aroma - avg. strength, lemony, malty sweet and wheat. A little cloves as it warms. Flavor - high up front bitterness. Cold and kind of fizzy on the tongue with some definite lemon flavor and just a hint of cloves. Dry, crisp, almost tart finish. Palate - very light, high carb. Overall - kind of a cross between an American wheat and a hefeweiss. Not too much clove and no banana. Pretty lemony, tart, and dry. I prefer either a nice, clean wheat or one with distinct banana and clove flavor. It’s ok, light and refreshing, but there are better ones out there.

Hazy yellow, large but diminishing head, very little lacing. Aroma is bananas, spices, cloves, wheat, etc. Flavor is the same, but the mouthfeel is very acidic. Some tartness there as well, but the acidity overrides everything. Not my favorite.

Bottle Sept 2006. Poured golden with a large white head. Aroma was of wheat, cloves, and banana. Taste was both sweet and citrusy. Finish was a little short for me. Overall a solid version.

Sample at AleFest Dayton: Clear yellow-gold color with a medium and foamy white head with pretty good retention. Pleasant aroma of wheat, spice and banana. Light-bodied and effervescent with a sweet character of fruit and wheat. Clove and citrus flavors are evident as well. The finish is short and spicy. Overally this is pretty well done.

Bottle: A little more lageresque than I was expecting. Looks good, golden yellow with nice white head. Aroma is banana, cloves, and some floral hops - flavor is much the same with some yeast notes as well. Agree that its classicaly german and a nice beer for summertime.

Pours a clear, filtered straw with a big fluffy white head. Aroma is banana, cloves and bread, some floral hops. The flavor is bready, mildly sweet, banana and light spice, maybe a touch of bubblegum. The mouthfeel is soft and light. Why is this filtered? This could have been amazing. Get your act together Victory.

This is a nice American version of a classic german beer style. Very complex flavors and very light, this beer is sure to please those in need of a Summer quencher.

This is just another fabulous brew from the boys at Victory. They got an absolute home run with this wheat beer. This wheat is free fo sediment and it has a fabulous crisp wheat taste. Refreshing and very reminiscent of the wheats of Bavaria, I would never know I was not drinking a fabulous German wheat. Close your eyes and you can really feel like your drinking in the Hofbrauhaus. I don’t even like wheat beers and this beer exceeded all my expectations and then some. One of the best.
