Commercial Description:
As invigorating as the morning rays of the summer sun, Sunrise Weissbier satisfies when the heat is on, too. This unfiltered, Bavarian style ale is true to its origins with all ingredients except for the water having been imported from Germany. It remains unfiltered to feature the tangy, fruity flavors of its unique yeast. The imported German malt contributes greatly to add a crisp, citric snap that makes this beer a superb summertime refresher.

Pours a deep urinary yellow with a nice big fluffy head. Nose has nice lemony pepper scent, promising. Taste is far too much lemony fruit, and a bit of spice. more tangy and sour than I was hoping. I might give it a few more points in the summer, but midway into drinking this I found I didn’t want to be drinking it anymore, it was like I was drinking fermented lemon juice. I figure a really good wheat beer would still taste good in the winter so I’m not overadjusting for the season. I might try it again but probably not. I suppose it does meet their description of a ’citric snap’, but I didn’t find this pleasurable.

A hazy light yellow beer with a huge white head. The aroma is sweet wheaty with notes of coriander, while the flavor is sweet wheaty with a spicy touch, which I can’t put a name to. The body is thin. I find it more Belgian than German in style.

(Bottle) Pours a cloudy yellow body with a moderate fluffy white head. Aroma of lemon, banana, and clove. Flavor of wheat, cloves, banana, and lemon. An exceptional Hefeweizen!

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with pineypower, thanks Dean!) I want to like this beer a lot, and I do like it, but it’s just not ringing the bell. It’s a very pale wheat beer, straw in color and fully cloudy. The head is a snow white color, and though it only rose to maybe half an inch in height, it’s settled at a quarter inch and refuses to subside to filminess. However, I’m noticing that the head does not stick to the glass at all, but slides down easily. The nose is solid spice/clove and light banana, plus a bit of citrus and wheat in there too. The wheat and lemony citrus are more evident in the initial flavor than they were in the nose, but trail off a bit in the finish. Inversely, the banana and clove start off somewhat subtle but continue on into the finish without dropping off. But I think the problem is that the overall flavor is a bit shy. I don’t need it to kick me hard in the groin or anything, but I just want this to be a little more assertive. Body is light-medium and carbonation is gentle on the palate. This has been a pretty nice beer to drink, nicely balanced with all the right flavors, but just a little light for my tastes.

The beer pours a hazy orange color with a decent size head. Aroma is very fruity. There are notes of banana, orange as well as other fruits. The flavor is again fruity, with hints of banana and other fruits. there is some bitterness but not too much. overall the mouthfeel is a little watery, however this beer is very refreshing and a good beer to enjoy on a summer afternoon.

Poured an voluptuously effervescent pale golden with a semi-creamy white head. Aroma of grass, banana, clove, touch of acidity. Taste is somewhat bland, with touches of banana and spiciness with a hint of lemon and a dry finish. NIce body with somewhat heavy carbonation. Not a bad attempt.

This was my first time trying this particular beer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very cloudy yellow-orange color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is sweet, yeasty and has a moderate citrus element. The mouthfeel is surprisingly thick. The flavor is yeasty and dry with noticeable wheat and a moderate citrus and banana element. The finish is dry. Other than the banana element this beer tastes more like a Belgian Wit than a German Hefeweizen.

Pours slightly hazy, lighter yellow in color, with a huge white head. Aroma is lemon zest, grassy/earthy hops, and some clove. Flavor is all fruit up front with the grass and clove coming through later. Has a decent yeasty chewiness in the finish. Pleasantly surprised by this beer.
