Commercial Description:
As invigorating as the morning rays of the summer sun, Sunrise Weissbier satisfies when the heat is on, too. This unfiltered, Bavarian style ale is true to its origins with all ingredients except for the water having been imported from Germany. It remains unfiltered to feature the tangy, fruity flavors of its unique yeast. The imported German malt contributes greatly to add a crisp, citric snap that makes this beer a superb summertime refresher.

Orange straw with a fluffy white head. Fresh orange, spice and hops on the nose. Crisp and round on hte palate. Orange and coriander with a touch of hops on the finish. One of the best hefes I’ve ever had.

12 oz b9ottle. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a bright white head that is foamy. Nose is light pepper and some crisp citrus notes, mostly lemon. Palate is a little thin and quite effervescent. Flavors are more of the lemon and light pepper and other citrus notes.

The aroma is of wheat malt and clove and the pour is a hazy golden yellow with a white head. The flavor is slighly spicey with a touch of malty sweetness and a light crisp finish.

Bottle (12oz). Bottle from NY Sammny. Poured slightly hazy light yellow with an average fizzy white head. Very funky crushed mint hoppy aroma, with wit spice, tobacco ash and citrus - very sharp and fresh. Taste follows, even more lemon, some banana - quite sharply fizzy and astringent mouthfeel - very nice, terific patio beer. Thanks, Sammy!

Bottled samle courtesy of Piscator. Nice citrus and banana aroma. G=Lots of bubbles which I like. Did not pair it with the right food, but was starter anyway.

Bottle best before June 14, 08 split with Tronraner in a blind hefeweizen tasting. This was the lightest of the four pours with a shimmering, cloudy golden color and excellent head retention. The frothy white head lasted during the entire session. This had deeper spiced notes, second most robust in our little taste, with added emphasis on the citrusy, floral notes. Great balance here of cloves, banana, wheat crackers. Lots of subtle nuances in the flavor as well. This leans more towards a grassy, slightly green take on the style. It’s a nice beer with a well rounded flavor profile. The finish is reasonably tart with a lemon seed aspect. I enjoyed the transition over my palate from juicier flavors to the drying finish. I’d say this was the hoppiest hefe of the night with discernable citrus character.

I haven’t had too many Hefe’s, but this is my favorite so far. Maltier and fuller than expected, it has nice subtle hints of yeast and fruit (makes me think of dried apricots). Finishes clean and smooth. Good stuff.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow pour with a medium white head. Aroma of lemongrass, coriander, cloves and wheat. Great taste of wheat with several spices present. Nice brew, though fairly high in ABV for a summer brew.
