COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Itís a lively jazz rhythm, a vigorous sway, a change of view or even a roll in the proverbial hay. Now it also means the welcome jolt of joy youíll experience upon your first sip of this session saison. Bracing, but benign, this Belgian style ale enlivens any experience with a spicy, aromatic start, citrus snap and fresh finish. Swing into spring with taste!

Bottle from Samís, Durham. All hail the session brew trend. Nicely lemonade-y pour, moderately cloudy, could almost pass for a Berliner crossed with a singel (the fluffy head of the latter gives this one away as farmhouse). Nice nose, citrus wakeup call and spice/yeast to complement. Full bodied, nicely spicy in places on the palate, I was pleased that the herbs didnít get too assertive, allowing the more bitter and lightly hopped qualities to shine through. Well done. I should get some more.

Pours lightly hazy yellow with a thin head. Citrus and spice with a somewhat bitter finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours a clear and bright straw gold body with a one inch frothy white head that faded to a thin wispy film. The nose comes across as a bit overly spiced with some nice perfume like qualities, light hay, and floral hops. The flavor is a bit too spicy and peppery for my tastes, thereís not much malt or softness from the yeast. Itís very light and thin in texture with fizzy prickly carbonation. I suppose that it is pretty sessionable, but itís really not what I want from a Saison at all. It comes across as too clean and sterile with too much of the flavor derived from added spices instead of from a good Saison yeast.

Pours a nice golden color, with a thick head that keeps its shape. Smells of flowers, spices, herbs and citrus. Taste starts off sweet then moves to a distinct floral and citrus flavor. Maybe a tiny bit of hoppiness in there too. Not bad, and very refreshing.

Bottle. Pours hazy straw with a large, quickly dissipating white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is orange and lemon zest, coriander and other spices, some earthy yeast. Flavor is all that -- stro gly spiced but balanced well with some moderate bitterness, wheat and mild maltiness. Light to medium body. Quite good.

Sampled at Pints for Pets. Light hoppy aroma, spicy with notes of citrus, sulfur, and fruity esters. Yeasty. Nice saison aroma profile. Pale straw clear with thin head. Medium body with vigorous carbonation. Starts with wheat and pilsener malt notes, light sulfur, citrus and herbs. Tasty saison thatís not too overwhelming. Not quite crisp but enjoyable. Done well for the style, with mild chalky bitter after.

Pours light yellow with a bit of frothy head. Aromas of spic and malt with a bit of yeast but not too drastic. Taste is a combination of sweet malty hay with a bit of hoppy notes near the end. Overall a decent beer for the spring

12-oz. Pours a hazy bright medium gold with a dense and eggy platinum blond head. Nice chamomile and white pepper nose, right where you want it, though the aromatics fade way too quickly. For those first couple sniffs and first couple drinks, though, wow, the white pepper and super intense dryness really make you feel like youíve stumbled into something great somehow. Wish that effect held up over the life of the glass, but at least that moment of promise did flash by. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Bits of egg yolk, chamomile, and white pepper on the mid palate, but very subdued. Restrained finish. Not bad. Possibly great. Ends up in the middle, but, sadly, not close enough to great.
