3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Golden color. Opens sweet and finishes dry. Aggressively hopped which ends up hiding a bit of the Belgian yeast. Still, really cool beer right here. Very tasty.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 8/13/2013. Pours moderately hazy golden straw color with a 2-3 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon zest, orange zest, pear, coriander, clove, pepper, ginger, wheat, bread, floral, grass, herbal, and yeast earthiness. very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of yeast ester, spice, and moderate malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange zest, pear, coriander, clove, pepper, ginger, wheat, bread, floral, grass, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of lemon, pear, coriander, clove, pepper, cracker, bread, floral, grass, and herbal on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spice, and moderate malt flavors; with great flavor robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice session saison style. Nice complexity, balance, and robustness of yeast, spice, and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
yeast pine and citrus in the not overpowering aroma, maybe a bit of spice and apple too..pale yellow cloudy appearance with a seafoamy white head, plenty of lacing..taste..like a lemon menthol cough drop I donít mean that in a bad way with just a touch of sweetness to balance..light dry and tingly..overall it is what it claims to be a refreshing spring/summer type Belgian saison thatís easily drinkable

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Pours a pale straw color with a slight haze, with a huge, fluffy white head that lingers. Aroma is grainy, some barnyard, lemony citrus and some peppery spiciness. Very floral flavor up front, lemon and orange zest, herbal and slightly medicinal pepperiness on the finish. Almost tart tangy feel, lightly effervescent, on the lighter side of medium bodied, finishes dry.

UPDATED: OCT 6, 2013 Bottle. Pours a light yellow straw color, slightly cloudy. Fluffy white head with lace. Melon, slight spice, and orange. Medium mouthfeel. Meh. Orange rind bitterness and some spice. Itís ok but not great.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very average saison. Aromas of honey and citrus. Maybe a touch of funk too. A touch of sour and bitter. Almost tastes like a pale lager. Meh.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a mildly hazed straw color. The head is a fluffy two finger white shade that collapses pretty quickly, but leaves nice lacing on the glass.
S: There is a decent amount of complexity here for a 4.5% saison. I pick up coriander, orange peel, grassy hops, sage, and black pepper. However, thereís also a vegetal green pepper note thatís detracting - and even worse, it gets stronger as it warms up.
T: This is weird. It opens up fairly citrusy - which I like - but ends on both a watery and a vegetal note. Decent (if overdone) spicing in the middle gives way to a bell pepper finish that really rubs me the wrong way. The flavor profile sorely lacks balance and cohesion.
M: Very clean and dry, which I like. Very astringent too, which I donít. This beer seemingly parches the palate excessively in the name of drinkability. Ah well, the latter is good, at least.
O: Swing...and a miss. This one was quite disappointing, considering Victory makes another saison thatís really damn good. And itís another damning reminder that they really need to put Helios in 6-packs!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle - pours hazy pale gold with small white head. Nose is lemon peel and floral. Sip adds straw. Sticky. Light mouthfeel for the style. Not too spicy or yeasty. Sessionable? Yes.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear light golden yellow with ample bright white head. Smells fantastic sagey lemon pepper. Flavor is not quite as good, but has a spicy bite and a green citrus hop character. Good moderately high carbonation. Smells better than it tastes though.
