COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s a lively jazz rhythm, a vigorous sway, a change of view or even a roll in the proverbial hay. Now it also means the welcome jolt of joy you’ll experience upon your first sip of this session saison. Bracing, but benign, this Belgian style ale enlivens any experience with a spicy, aromatic start, citrus snap and fresh finish. Swing into spring with taste!

transparent gold, thin white bubbled head with decent lacing. Esters out of control after three pilsners, pepper, ginger, and lemongrass. Light dough adds balance. Peppery lemongrass flavor up front followed by dough and heavy citrus, finishing with bubblegum and crust hints. High carbonation accents esters, but overall pleasant.

12oz bottle from Publix. Yellow pour with huge pillowy bright white head. Aroma is perfume, spices, floral, lemon. Tastes are coriander, pepper, yeast, grass, straw. Fizzy creamy texture. Ok.

Undated 12 oz bottle into a Piraat tulip glass. A: Pours a slightly hazed golden color. The white head has moderate size and duration but leaves ample lacing on the glass. High carbonation by appearances (and feel). S: Plenty of lemon and other citrus with coriander and a background of grass, hops and wheat. Nice complexity for a 4.5% saison, albeit not very appealing. T- Notably tart and fruity with some lemon zest, coriander, banana, and vague spices. M- light bodied with crisp, high carbonation; dry finish. O- a flavorful Saison that is too spiced to serve as a session beer for some. Nice and reffreshig, nonetheless, on a hot summer day.

Hazy golden-yellow body, solid white head, soapy lacing. Nose show lemon zest, herbal and floral, light grains and yeast. Flavor is a bit more mellow with less definition. Medium to light bodied appropriate carbonation dry, refreshing finish.

Bottle from Bottledog, Kings Cross. Hazy, yellow colour. Thin, bubbly, white head. Smells like the lemon infused aftershave you’d get in a Turkish barbers shop. Lemongrass. Sorbet. Taste is dry, and a little pithy bitter. Fresh palate. A little creaminess. Finish is spicy dry, with bitterness at the end.

A very nice session ale. Light, floral, and fruity with a balanced amount of spice. Bitterness is also understated.

Bottle from Total Wine Sterling. Pours golden with an inch of white foam that leaves lacing. Nice peppery notes on the nose. Nice, clean on the tongue with some solid hop bite on the finish. Solid for style.

Sampled at Pints for Pets. Light hoppy aroma, spicy with notes of citrus, sulfur, and fruity esters. Yeasty. Nice saison aroma profile. Pale straw clear with thin head. Medium body with vigorous carbonation. Starts with wheat and pilsener malt notes, light sulfur, citrus and herbs. Tasty saison that’s not too overwhelming. Not quite crisp but enjoyable. Done well for the style, with mild chalky bitter after.

A steady pour into my New Belgium globe glass produces a fat-two-finger thick, pale tan colored head that leaves some light, but nicely layered lacing on the walls of the glass as I slowly consume the beer. The beer is a nice gold color that shows a brilliantly clear, pale yellow gold hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells of hay like grain, soft cracker like malt, lemon zest, and other citrus notes. A deeper inspection of the aroma yields a grassy, slightly herbal edge to the citrus character, but there is also a sort of Guava like character and something that reminds me of mint or menthol too. As the beer warms up a light peppery note starts to come out, as does a sort of woody pine / menthol type note.

Dry tasting with a noticeable, but not overwhelming citrus character. There is a solid pale maltiness / grain-character here too that contributes a chewy pale-wheat cracker like note, a touch of dried hay, and a rounded, chewy rustic white bread crumb like flavor. The beer is quite light bodied and quaffable, but without being overly thin. There is a spicy, peppery note to the finish that lingers on the palate for quite some time, and this is joined by a light phenolic note that suggests at cloves, but is more musty and melds in with the woody, almost menthol leaning, peppery notes. The citrus flavors are subdued compared to their aromatics; in fact the beer has more of a woody peppery note as well as some woody pine / menthol like notes; still citrus is here in the flavor with Meyer lemon notes, lime zest, and a tropical-citrus character that subtly influences the character of this beer. The flavor is actually better balanced than the nose, as the citrus character is a bit dominant in the aroma.

This is a solid Saison, I really like that it is so low in alcohol, but still has a substantial flavor to it. It is not the most complex Saison, but it is light and quaffable, and works for me as an easy drinking, sessionable brew that is interesting enough to hold my attention when I want it to, but is otherwise a beer to do other things with.
