COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s a lively jazz rhythm, a vigorous sway, a change of view or even a roll in the proverbial hay. Now it also means the welcome jolt of joy you’ll experience upon your first sip of this session saison. Bracing, but benign, this Belgian style ale enlivens any experience with a spicy, aromatic start, citrus snap and fresh finish. Swing into spring with taste!

Tap. Massive three finger cappuccino foam white head on a hazy light bright yellow orange. Spicy, peppery, floral and a tad yeasty in the aroma. Way too much spice in the flavor, white peppercorn, and a bit of grass. Lighter soft chalky body. Meh

Bottle from Village Wine and Spirits in Athens. Sweet ’n’ sour initial, with some light funk and peach-lemon juice. Nearly clear, pear juice, little head. Light sweet initial / mid has a bit of barn and some sort of spice / finish is gently bitter and moves to grass notes. Light body. Okay. Has some decent saison character. Very light-bodied stuff.

This has been my go-to beer as of late. Sessionable is the key although it does start to get a bit estery after a few.

Lukaduke (1735) - Portland, Maine, USA - APR 12, 2013
Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a finger of fizzy foam. The nose is a bit dirty with a peppery diaper like spice that dissipates slowly as the beer warms. The palate is crisper than the nose would have lead me to believe and confirms that it is a solid drinker and not a drainpour... Earthy yeast profile with traces of pepper and citrus to add a slight complexity. Not bad but Ill stick with the Helios over this anytime.... although the lower alcohol levels in this make is a plausible session beer.

Nice new offering from victory! Light orange and cloudy. Aroma is slightly funky with notes of orange peel. Very light easy drinking. Taste is also orange, coriander, funky, and slightly bitter.

Bottle. Pours a golden color with white head. Cat urine aroma. Yeasty, cat urine, spicy flavors. Really not a fan of this.

MadRobin (1693) - Silver Spring, USA - MAY 8, 2013
On tap at Always Ron's in Hagerstown, MD. Clear, yellow-amber with an off-white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of yeast, fruit, pine, floral perfume and mild earthy hops. Taste of floral hops, earthy herbs and spice, year and pine. Much hoppier, or at least less malty, than your typical saison. Medium body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. Golden and hazy with one finger of white foam. Smells and tastes of yeast, lemons and spices. Light body with a dry and crisp feel. Finishes peppery and dry.

Pours gold with a thin white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, pepper and citrus. Taste is bitter, herbal with lots of pepper and some grapefruit. Nothing exciting but easy to drink and refreshing.
