It’s a lively jazz rhythm, a vigorous sway, a change of view or even a roll in the proverbial hay. Now it also means the welcome jolt of joy you’ll experience upon your first sip of this session saison. Bracing, but benign, this Belgian style ale enlivens any experience with a spicy, aromatic start, citrus snap and fresh finish. Swing into spring with taste!

Bottle into a fluted glass. Clear hay with a thick white head. Aroma is spicy, citrus, white bread. Taste is like a fizzy grapefruit cocktail. Lots of spice, citrus, pine, mint. A bit thin. Definitely easy drinking.

On tap @ Prohibition Pig (Waterbury). Clear golden with a medium white head and intense lacing. Aroma of banana, malt, Saison yeast, spices and light citrus. Taste is moderately sweet with spices, light citrus, malt, light banana and Saison yeast. Medium body. Quite dry. Moderate carbonation. Very good Saison. Sessionable.

Bottle. Pour is a cloudy gold with a medium head and intriguing aromas of orange and lemon zest, white pepper and a little hay. Flavor is similar but clean and refreshing. It has quite a bit if zingy citrus to it which makes it pretty interesting and just enough spice to give it a little bite. I liked this beer quite a bit, especially considering the low abv.

Golden color. Opens sweet and finishes dry. Aggressively hopped which ends up hiding a bit of the Belgian yeast. Still, really cool beer right here. Very tasty.

Had this one poured out of the bottle. Light spicy notes in the aroma and a head that dissipates quickly. The flavor is mild compared to most saisons, but that combined with the moderate ABV definitely allows for it to live up to its name as a session beer. Extremely refreshing and easy to drink. I believe that accomplished what they were trying to do with this beer.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance has a hazy pale golden yellow body with a two finger white foamy head that sticks around for most of the beer, some light sticky lacing is left in rings. The smell has a citrus/lemon coming through with some light pepper and a bit of mint shows up after a bit of warming. The taste has all of those previously mentioned flavors coming through in an earthy flavorful way, earthy aftertaste and finish. The palate is light to medium, sessionable, adequately carbonated for the style and for me leading to a nice smoothness all around. Overall, I say this is good for the style and very good to me.

Bottle - I’d had this before, but I finally just got a chance to buy a fresh six pack this year. This one poured a hazy straw color with a medium-large white head. Aroma was light wheat notes, sweet light citrus character with some coriander, and pepper notes. Flavor was light, sweet grain, pepper, spice. Pretty enjoyable, light and refreshing. Easy to drink and about perfect for Spring.

Light slightly hazy yellow with plenty of fluffy white head. Smells of light coarse grain with a hint of lemon, ever so slight. Taste follows the nose with more grain, which is misleading because this beer is clearer than it tastes.

I’ve been liking this a lot. nice spritzy head with lacing. Very bright, sharp and dry up front and then the peppery spice comes in followed by a bit more herbal character and finishing light and somewhat lemony. A beer in three cohesive parts. And a low ABV keeps it refreshing.
