COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Victory version of this ‘secret’ offering is inspired by the rich brewing heritage of the alt beers. It is a dark ale exhibiting the love of hops and mastery of malt that Victory has displayed for 10 years. Initially assertive with spicy hops, Ten Years Alt concludes ever so comfortably in rich, roasted malts and burnished hop character.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has notes of malt as well as lighter notes of spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and spices.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel and aroma hops. Fairly full body with lots of caramel malt and a very bitter finish. But Altbier? At 8.5% ABV?? No way. 160806

[Bottled, thanks chris_o!] Amber colour. Ashy nose. Sweetish with clean, rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Finishes with some salty licorice. A bit shallow in character.

Beautiful amber color. Aroma of caramel. Strong mouthfeel, strong taste of dark caramel, almost burnt sugar, molasses. Good and powerful, but the bitterness in the end is too strong.

Bottle thanks to Engelsmann. Clear red/brown - white head. Bread, berries, caramel, hoppy, citrus, garpe, light metallic - bad storage ??

Orangey head. Large Munich malt aroma full of biscuits and breadcrust. Richly caramelly, sweet Munich overdose. A shade husky/minerally. Decent, but perhaps too assertive for my taste.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2006 (Bottle, best before Aug 01 06) Pours a lightly cloudy amber with a small creamy yellowish-beige head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, and pineapple. Flavor of nuts, toasted malt, and hops provides good balance and nice dry, bitter finish. Excellent altbier!

(12oz bottle, best by 8/2/06) Small beige head atop a lightly hazed copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, cookie, caramel, some plum, light salt. Taste is moderately sweet, sharp grassy/herbal, caramel, some cookie, grapefruit. Smooth medium body, surprisingly light on the tongue, light acidity, alcohol well-hidden. This is delicious, but much too bitter to be considered an Alt.
