warrior (213), Mt. Wolf, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 21, 2006 Beer poured with a head that didn’t last long. Was a deep copper color but it had a slight chill haze present in the beer. As the beer warmed up some it was clear. Malt aromas with some vegetable type aromas also. Heavy malt flavor with a an astringent type bitterness that follows. It did not seem like a clean hop bitterness to me. The finish was dry and not as pleasant as I expected. I do like the alt style very much. I have had and enjoyed the Zum Uriege Stick alt and the Stick and Jab from Heavyweight. I was dissapointed in this beer from Victory as I was expecting a better beer. I will need to try their version of a regualr alt as I have not had that one yet.
slimchill (616), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 19, 2008 Bottle. Caramel-sweet nose with some strawberry and raspberry fruit character. Clear pale red, thin head. Flavor opens sweet and estery, finished a bit harsh but with nice fruit esters. Gets more harsh as it warms. Beerman6686 (654), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 19, 2008 Pours a dark amber color with an off white head. Aroma is very malty but with some hop undertones mixed in. Flavor is also very malty, but well balanced by the hops, nice dry crisp finish. The only complaint is a slight coppery taste. Nothing the stands out here but very drinkable, hides the alcohol well, and has a nice price. keepersj12 (394), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Aug 16, 2008 Top notch stuff. Nice sweet malty aroma with a sweet malty taste but followed by a nice hop kick. Finish is crisp and dry. I would never have guessed the ABV as it is very well hidden however there is a nice glow after a couple NomDeBeer (127), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 14, 2008 This is a very crisp, clean, drinkable beer. Not assertively flavorful, but not boring either. The alcohol is well hidden making this one very enjoyable. Got more than I expected out of this one. DrDavid (114), , Vermont, USA Aug 13, 2008 (Bottle). Excellent offering. Deep brownish red in color. Thin beige head. Well balanced flavor, accentuated by lively hops. For the rest, the commercial description is right on target.
